Here i present Cosmic Dish, its a decorative dish-bowl thing inspired by sci-fi. This is where i put my things that i carry around most of the time. Learning how to wrap a 2D surface with constraints over a sphere was a challenge, but fun to learn.
Notes: The contraint was put on the thickness of the skeleton during designing, therefore the scales each have a slighty deviation geometry Scales are numbered, see image on how to fit them (number 1 only fits in number 1 etc) For me a presure fit was good enough but i can see a bit of glue being helpful here Skeleton should be printen on its side (see image) Glue needed for skeleton if printed in halves(i did aswell) scales should be printed on their side aswell (upright, not flat)
hope you like it!
I wanted to print the scales in gold, but i could not find the ‘’right'' gold filament :(
Would you like to see more of my projects? i invite you to check out my Instagram (@SMACKMAX_). I try to post all of my prints, renders, and animations to build a portfolio of my projects, often in advance of publishing the models. This way, you can get a sneak peek of what's coming next! https://www.instagram.com/smackmax_/
