This was a test done in SelfCAD to validate and improve my skills because I was more used to using TinkerCAD, not SelfCAD.

I'd like to thank MarsGizmo for coming up with this idea. I just decided I'd make it as well.

"Gear" Box

So the other day, I saw a video of Camdem Bowen making a 3D printed mechanical TV. And I thought that I should make one as well because I like mechanical things and because I think I can make it better than he did.

Anyways, the first step to a mechanical TV would be the thing that generates the image. The Nipkow Disk.

In the heart of every Mechanical TV from the early 1900's until the 1940's, 50's, or 60's, is a special disk.

This disk has holes which are evenly spaced in a spiral. As the disk spins, it captures one part of an image and projects it to your eye. If it spins fast enough, you get yourself what looks like an image.

It's like reading a book. You don't see the full page until you read the entire text. You are scanning the pages one word by one word until you get the full image. Or like shining a flashlight or laser pointer in the dark and then moving it back and forth. Then you move it downwards and it will generate a much greater area of light. This is because you are basically shining your flashlight in specific areas to make it bigger.

That made no sense but still. I made this just to aide myself in the 3D Printed Mechanical TV.

Nipkow Disk

This is a Weight Powered Plane I developed during STEM Class. Basically I saw this video made by Tom Stanton one day where he made a Flywheel Powered Plane with the Flywheel's rotational inertia/energy rotating a propeller.

So I thought, what if I replaced the flywheel with a weight? I can have a rope which is wound around a shaft. This rope has a tiny weight on one end which makes the rope go down and thus turn the shaft.

The shaft spins and the rotational energy either A) goes directly to the propeller (which isn't efficient) or B) goes through a gearbox to make the propeller last longer or give more thrust.

Whoo, that was a lot to say.

Finally, an updated version of the 1B MMM! 

This version:
- is easier to build
- less complicated
- an actually functional design (The VERSION 1 design needed extensive testing and still wouldn't work)

A Bearing is essentially a mechanical device that lessens friction on, say, an axle, without using TOO much lubrication, oil, or grease.

Bearings typically use Balls, however, Balls do little to reduce friction. A Ball will still generate friction and slow down.

So I had the stupid and silly idea to use water and have the rotor part (connected to the axle) float. This would reduce friction, right?

Water Bearing (PIECES)

**TL;DR Just wanted to let you know that YOU SHOULD NOT 3D PRINT THIS IF YOU HATE WASTING TIME AND MATERIALS. This will definitely not work without multiple trial prints and stuff. Also since I'm a NOOB at SelfCAD and forgot to scale my parts to the desired size.**

So what the heck is this? It's a Mechanical Memory Module. It can store 8 bits, or 1 Byte, which is about 256 Binary numbers or 8 Decimal numbers. That probably makes no sense but I don't know what I'm talking about either.

ALL I KNOW IS THAT I designed this "thing" to be put into a Mechanical Computer. Not just a Mechanical Computer, but a 3D PRINTED Mechanical Computer. Like 100%. Apart from a few things which can't be 3D printed...

It has been 2 years since I made this, and where's that Mechanical Computer? Well, I'm trying to work on ANOTHER project which is a Mechanical version of the AI Guessing Game I made a while back. Oh, what's that, I hear you asking?
