Description

Remix of this model by electrosync

Assembly: For assembly instructions please refer to his [video(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h5bShThIvw). The assembly is exactly the same as in the original except for the usage of nuts.

Printing: Print 1 of each part except for the clamp where you will need 2. The shell parts require supports for the bolt and nut cutouts

Parts:

3x M3x14 (hex) bolts. M3x12 should theoretically work too but in my case it didn't fit properly and caused problems with the snapping mechanism due to sqashing the two shell halves together slightly
3x M3 nuts
3x M3 washers
1 50mm paperclip

Changes:

added cutouts to accomodate sinking the nuts and bolts into the shell
added plastic standoffs in the front to prevent overtightening the bolts
added access cutout to allow for bending the spring for retensioning without disassembly

@scrath for the recessed nuts and screw heads, I have a suggestion, make the layer transition from larger opening to the smaller with a bridge not an open hole. a one layer bridge. This is because you cannot bridge with a hole in the middle. on that layer and possibly the following you will have plastic strands hanging down. instead make it a 1 layer bridge with your cylinder hold sitting on top of the one layer bridge. then for cleanup just push an allen key or a screw throught the one layer bridge and you are golden

I was also wondering if you could add indentations on the 'clamps'/inners' to make it so you could insert the leg of the spring, then fold it over so it is less likely to come out, then you could probably get more snappy tension on it too.

The spring is the thing I'm having most problems with. Are there better/worse types of springs to use? How are you retensioning while it is in there, pic? Thanks!!
