Gridfinity Cable Winder / Cable Storage

Perfectly organized cables, now compatible with Gridfinity!

This bin lets you wind up your cables by turning the dial at the top. To unwind, just pull on both ends.

Featuring

🔹 2x2x6 Gridfinity bin form factor (84mm x 84mm x 42mm) 🔹 A lid with a print-in-place cable-winding knob 🔹 Four holes in the side of the bin for entrance and exit of your cables in any direction 🔹 A cable channel ensuring that your cables stay within the 2x2 size while still allowing easy access to them 🔹 A tiny little printed nut that fixes your cable in place in the cable winder

Compatibility

Max. Connector Size is 16mm x 27mm

You cannot use any connectors larger than this, as they won't fit through the holes. This size fits all USB Connectors, probably all HDMI and DP, and the "Kaltgerätestecker" we use in Germany/EU for 230V devices. Power plugs will not fit.

Max. Diameter is 6mm.

You can still use thicker ones, but they won't fit the cable slot and will stick out to the sides a bit.

Max. Length is ??

Haven't tested this yet, but it's larger than 2m for common USB cables. If you find out, let me know!

Assembly

1️⃣ Take the lid and put the center point of your cable in the groove. 2️⃣ Take the nut and screw it into the lid, securing your cable in place. 3️⃣ Feed the cable ends through two holes of your choice in the bin.

Uses

🔹 Store your cables (duh) 🔹 Build a tower of cables to tidy up your electronics workbench: Multimeter, oscilloscope, and power supplies need lots of cables and tend to create a mess on any desk. Cleaning up the desk after use becomes a lot faster: Just turn the knobs on your boxes! 🔹 Put them behind your electronic devices to always have the perfect length of cable you need.
