My very first articulated model - and it's a Narwhal!

Narwhals, Narwhals, swimming in the ocean...

I spent much more time on this model then I should have, but I have been learning the flexible and articulated model style with this being my first offering, so it's been a blast!

Some thing to consider about this model that I have learned:

Articulated joints are the limiting factor on how small you can scale a moveable model. I have not tested this model below the 100% scale. I imagine it can successfully print below that, but be warned, with this model, the joints in the tail are the smaller ones, so I wouldn't go too much smaller than it is.

As it stands, you can comfortably print two Narwhal pals next to each other on the A1 mini build plate that is sliced in the 3MF file.

The horn was originally too small to print at the tip - I have since rounded it out so it should print a lot nicer.

The "bendy tail" file is my attempt to create a model that allows the tail to be bent upwards and rest there, its a bit finnicky, though, so I will need more practice with this type of joint resting in each other.

I printed the Narwhals in the photos @ .16mm height, 3 walls and 10% gyroid (the best infill, come at me ;O)

I've included my version of the painted narwhal in the 3MF file, with a simple grey section on the bottom. You could also print the small eye accent in white, if you'd like, I simply painted it with Bright White acrylic paint.

The file with "Glass Eyes" is for gluing your own beady eyes onto the Narhwhal. I purchased a variety of sized glass eyes off of Amazon, and I intend to implement more sizes in my models in the future (Cause they look so cool!) I will be working on a workflow to get proper sized scalings of models that utilize the eyes for different sizes of glass eyes. (I also want to try googly eyes, but I haven't bought those yet!)

This is my first flexi model, with many more to come in the future. Let me know if you run into any issues printing this!
