A 3D version of the #OpenDnD symbol made by Reddit user ssddgrl. Here’s the post with the original version: https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/10eko6e/oc_art_i_made_this_if_anyone_wanted_to_use_it_for/

This symbol was designed to spread awareness of the controversy surrounding Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro’s plans to revoke the current open gaming license and replace it with a more restrictive one. If you want to know more there is no shortage of articles and social media discourse on the subject but here’s a brief explanation.

The D&D Game system has been free to use for third parties to make their own content under the Open Gaming License (OGL) with few restrictions. This has helped enable a culture of sharing creativity in the community and has vastly expanded the amount of professionally produced D&D content available by allowing people to market third party content. It was recently leaked that Wizards of the Coast planned to revoke the OGL and replace it with one that was more restrictive and gave them more control over content produced using it. Community backlash and boycotts have caused them to delay the implantation of this new OGL. They have also released statements indicating that they intend to walk back some of the changes people objected to. However, at this point they still plan to replace the OGL with a new version that will presumably be more restrictive than the current one.

Update: Wizards of the Coast has abandoned their plan to revoke and replace the OGL and have made the version of the rules that are available under the OGL also available under a creative commons license. Thank you to everyone who supported the open dnd movement.

To print this you will need to use a nozzle no larger than 0.4mm to get the letters to come out right. I printed at a layer height of 0.1mm. I used a single nozzle to print this and swapped filaments mid print to make it multi-colored.
