**Description**
AMS shelf base to mount your AMS to the Multiboard system.  This is based on my original design found here [Multiboard AMS Shelf and Build Plate Holder](https://makerworld.com/en/models/425880#profileId-340170).  While it works well and has held my AMS for months without issue, this new design takes advantage of the recent Multiboard parts update by using newly available parts.

**Update**
I received a couple of comments that there are fitment issues with some AMS models.  There appear to be multiple versions of the AMS shipping (as of Oct 2024) with differences in the case design.   The latest version of the model should be compatible with all AMS versions.

Requires the following Multiboard 3D printed parts to complete the shelf:

Depending on your Multiboard panel setup, you may require a combination of the following:

**New Plate Holder**
Addition of plate holder that mounts on the between (2) [7x7 Multiboard Tile Bracket](https://than.gs/m/974123) attached to the inside of the heavy brackets.  Use (2) [Multiboard Snap](https://than.gs/m/974295) with (2) [Small Thread - Lite Multipoint](https://than.gs/m/1123321) to mount the Plate Holder to the Multiboard tiles.

**Mounting the Self Bases to the Bracket**

Insert the [8x8 Bracket - Bolt-Locked Inserts](https://than.gs/m/1130435) pegs into the appropriate holes in the shelf bases.  Use (4) [Mid Hole - Bolt Locker](https://than.gs/m/1130438), one in each peg to secure the shelf bases and bracket together.  Super simple.

**Mounting to your Multiboard**

The AMS shelf consists of (2) [8x8 Bracket - Bolt-Locked Inserts](https://than.gs/m/1130435). The brackets should be spaced 14 holes apart (left to right) and the pegs require 8 holes vertically.

The [8x8 Bracket - Bolt-Locked Inserts](https://than.gs/m/1130435) attach to your Multiboard tiles via a [Heavy Weight-Bearing Hook Snap](https://than.gs/m/1130430) on the top-most peg. The [Heavy Weight-Bearing Hook Snap](https://than.gs/m/1130430) is then secured by using a [Small Thread - Lite Multipoint](https://than.gs/m/1123321) screwed into the push-fit peg on the bracket. Alternatively, you can use one of my Multiboard remixed [Multiboard T-bolt 25mm wide head with offset](https://than.gs/m/1052045), that lock the bracket into the Multiboard tile from the rear and also act as additional tile support against your mounting surface.  The disadvantage of using my bolt, is that you must remove the Multiboard tile from the wall for installation.

For the other pegs on the bracket, I HIGHLY suggest using a Double-Sided Offset Snap, either the single version or the dual version for the bottom 2 pegs.  You may already have snaps available on your existing Multiboard tiles that you can use.  The key point here, is to make sure the bracket is supported directly against the wall behind the bracket, or else the Multiboard tile will flex.

The “Double-Sided Snap - Part B” joins with any “DS Part A” Snap, like the Double-Sided Snap - Part A or the T Offset Snaps - DS Part A.

Remember: Part A’s join with Part B’s.

When joining them together, make sure to align the two square symbols.

This snap behaves like a regular snap with a push-fit hole to insert push-fit accessories or screw in mid thread bolts.

This part comes with four tolerances: loose (0.65 mm), standard (0.5 mm), tight (0.25 mm) and permanent (0.15 mm).

(If you have to use the loose tolerance to fit this part in, then you’re going to have problems with the rest of the Multiboard system. Calibrate your printer to work with at least the standard tolerance)

You can remove this piece from the Offset Snaps using the Offset Snaps Removal Tool.

Mid Hole - Bolt Locker

Hook Snaps can hold more weight than [regular Snaps](https://than.gs/m/974295) and [Moderate Snaps](https://than.gs/m/989145) due to its 'hook'. This Snap is 'directional' and the arrows must be pointing up. It only fits on Tiles that aren't mounted flush against a surface.

This part comes folded in half to add more strength.

Connect these brackets to your tiles using Multiboard Snaps (use a Weight-Bearing Snap at the top), and lock into place using [Locking Bolts](https://than.gs/m/1310062).

Brackets can hold another Tile, a Multibin [Base Plate](https://link.Multiboard.io/base-plates), or a [Tray](https://link.Multiboard.io/tray):

- Holding a Tile: Connect your Bracket and Tile together using Snaps (facing down). Then lock using [Locking Bolts](https://than.gs/m/1310062).

- Holding a [Base Plate](https://link.Multiboard.io/base-plates): Place the Base Plate on the brackets and lock using [Locking Bolts](https://than.gs/m/1310062).
