This is a 3D printable cabinet for an 8" powered subwoofer by Deposition Sound LLC. If you have a medium/small living space that is in desperate need of thick, juicy, and fast bass, these are just for you! They have been carefully tuned to 33Hz, with in-room extension down to the mid 20's Hz!

Pro-Tip: Spend time tuning the small "Fence-in-Groove" print before committing to the large print. The two halves, regardless of print orientation, should fit together without clashing. This project requires a lot of filament and we're trying to set you up for success! Also, if you decide to plop the 3MFs into your own slicer, be sure to follow the build orientation as shown in the images/previews. This will help reduce gapping in the middle of the assembly. Concave bottom and top halves that both curl in the same direction (due to small mechanical misalignments or inaccuracies) will still nest together with minimal gaps :)....trust us, we've tried it!

Woofer = Dayton Audio DCS205-4 Plate Amp = Dayton Audio SPA100-D x12 M5 brass threaded inserts x12 M5 x 16mm button head hex socket bolts x12 M3 brass threaded inserts x12 M3 x 12mm button head hex socket bolts Lots of CA glue (assembly order matters), thicker the better!

Be sure to trim and strip the connectors on the plate amp wires. That way the 8" woofer spring connectors can receive the bare wire. Stuff 2oz of Poly-Fil into each quadrant and you're ready to rock. If using a slow curing adhesive, allow for ample cure time as this little 8" woofer will generate high pressure loads!

Note: We include flat-bottom feet that receive foam rubber pads for hard flooring. If you're placing these subs on a thick shag carpet, we recommend the spikes.

General Notes:
We recommend using PETG. But PLA, ABS, and ASA are perfectly fine too. Keep in mind that the surfaces making contact between the pedestal ball and the upper plate socket are subject to wear. After all, it's just plastic. The levers are there to add a little extra clamp force and increase the static friction force. Try to make all adjustments with the levers open. You can adjust the orientation of the speaker with the levers in the closed position. But, do so sparingly as this will reduce the holding power of your swivel joint in the future.

Clamping & Swiveling Desktop Speaker Stand by Deposition Sound

Basic Assembly Instructions:
1. With the upper plate flat side down, drop left and right levers over center of castellated tabs on pivot points. Note the mirror images attached. Also, the opening on one side of the lever is slightly larger than the other. This is a taper to allow for easy fit over the tabs. Insert through the large opening :)
2. Flip over upper plate and 2-lever assembly. With the levers in the open position and the base flat-side down on a hard surface (the floor or sturdy table), straddle the ball of the base pedestal with the opening of the upper plate socket. Give the upper plate a nice hard smack downward so that the ball pops into the socket.
3. Rotate the levers a few times to smoothen the cam-to-flat contacting surfaces. It should quite a bit of resistance to rotate them into the close position. You can add a little grease/lube between the cams of the levers and the flat contacting surface. DO NOT add lubrication to the swiveling ball joint! You want this joint as dry as possible. Wipe it with some IPA before install if you handle it too much.
4. Place the stand in the desire listening position. Then place the speaker on top of the upper plate. With levers in the open or half-open position now. Adjust the orientation of the speaker, rotate the levers forward to lock it into place.

Swiveling Desktop Speaker Stand by Deposition Sound

This is our 3rd speaker design to date. We went way off-script with this loudspeaker, hoping to attract those with smaller build volumes and a desire for deep bass and excellent off-axis response. They pack the party animal of the FDM5's and sophistication of an FDMGeo all into a small footprint that's perfect as a desktop monitor. Don't be fooled by their size. They sound best at moderate volume levels and pack a punch that will catch you off guard! (more details coming)
