The pieces that contain multiple skulls use a unique print-in-place ball-and-socket joint that allows the finished print to fully turn, twist, and rotate. See below for details and printing instructions
Necklace: The Skull Necklace is provided in two versions: a closed-loop 36-skull version and an open-loop 35 skull version. Both prints have an outside print diameter of 177mm and a finished length or circumference of approximately 50cm. The closed-loop version is too small to fit over most heads but can be used as a prop. The ends of open-loop version are connected using string or elastic. Multiple necklaces and chokers can be combined to make some serious skull bling.
Choker: The 19-skull Choker print has an outer diameter of 111mm and finished length of approximately 28cm. The ends are connected using string, ribbon or elastic. Multiple necklaces and chokers can be combined to make some serious skull bling.
Bracelet: the 20-skull Bracelet print has an outer diameter of 111mm and finished circumference of approximately 28cm.
Rings: The rings are provided in sizes 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 to fit all fingers and thumbs. There are plenty of online sizing guides if you are not sure what size you need.
Earrings: Skull Earrings are provided in single and multiple-skull dangling versions. You will need some standard earring hooks and ¼” jump rings to attach to the embedded loop on the top skull.
Here are some additional printing instructions related to the print-in-place ball-and-socket joints:
The inner spheres print on top of tiny supports within the cavity of the neighbouring skull. Once printed, a light twist of each skull frees the ball within the cavity and the skull chain can turn and bend. Be sure to let your print fully cool first! If the plastic is still soft, the connector may break when you try to move it.
Plan your supports carefully. A suggested technique using Cura is to raise the object of the build plate by 3mm, and then add tree supports underneath. Switch “Support distance priority” to “xy overrides z” and tighten up the “xy support distance” to 0.1mm.
