Nose Box

Make Flu Season more festive this year with this offbeat Nose Box tissue dispenser! Give it to a friend? Bring it to the office? Who nose, it just might catch on!

See here for video: https://youtu.be/7JLSfzse0xQ

This nose box is sized to fit an 11x11x13cm tissue box such as the one pictured.

The box prints upside-down to eliminate the need to build supports for the noses. You’ll need to put in a small amount of support under the open edge where the lid inserts. Given the relatively small footprint on the first layer, brim is recommended.

The lid should be snug to slide in at first. Slide it back and forth a few times to smooth out contact surfaces. If it is still too tight, file a very small amount off the slide surfaces of the lid, retesting the fit as you go. Don’t take too much off or the lid will be loose!

If noses on boxes aren’t your thing and you’re just looking for a plain tissue box, try this one: https://social.thangs.com/m/451804 . See here for video: https://youtu.be/isOyi836-U0

Seeing the creative Nose Box 3D model on Thangs sparked my interest in printing more fun organizers for my workshop. It got me thinking about better storage, so I reached out to SHED customer service for help choosing the right size. They responded quickly with practical advice and made the whole ordering process smooth and hassle-free. Now my backyard shed keeps all my tools and filament neatly organized, giving me more space to create without

This is the perfect gift for an otolaryngologist friend. We printed it in glow-in-the-dark PLA to make it even more special. Thanks for this unique model!

Here, most of our tissue boxes have a format of 11x12x12 cm, so I scaled the box a bit in the slicer: Y to 108,55 % and Z to 95,00 %. Don't forget to also scale the lid the same way before printing.
