The Kobra X D3P overhead mount is the newest addition to the D3P line of printer upgrades.
**IMPORTANT: The Kobra X overhead mount model is only for the overhead mount. The Kobra X D3P bottom riser is a separate model. Both models can be used separately or together. One of my first printer upgrade models was the overhead mount for the Kobra 3. My overhead designs have evolved since then. I was often asked for a dual Ace overhead. I was reluctant to do so but after some testing and design came up with a sturdier design that I feel comfortable will be able to sustain the mass and movement of dual Aces. I also added modularity to the design, which I feel should be a key element of my D3P line.

FEATURES
Features of the Kobra X overhead mount:
• Single or dual Ace 2 and more. The design is modular so you can use it for a single Ace 2 (middle) or print out the shelves (see addons below) and have dual Ace 2. I will be adding shelves for single, dual dryers and quad dryer (middle) and, after testing, possibly a quad dryer to use alongside a single Ace 2;
• Up to 4 spool holders with optional dry boxes. The Kobra X D3P overhead will be able to have a single spool holder on each side (with optional dry box). If you print the Kobra X D3P bottom riser then you can have two on each side. The clearance is not sufficient without the added height of the Kobra X D3P riser on account of the reinforced shelves on top;
• Dry box with desiccant holders - Up to 4 optional dry boxes to be mounted on the spool holders (see addons below). These are available to download for free on Makeronline;
• LED LIGHTS - the overhead features slots to install 3 slim 30 cm (12 inch) LED strips (see addons below);
• Ace Hub holder - placed at the top center of the overhead mount for maximum efficiency;
• PTFE bracket and PTFE routing system - a custom PTFE bracket to efficiently guide the PTFE tubes to the print head;
• PTFE and cable clip system - a customizable PTFE and cabling clip system to arrange the cables at the rear of the Kobra X D3P overhead mount;
• Sturdiness and filament efficiency - the design minimizes filament use while maintaining structural strength;
• Modular integration with the Kobra X D3P bottom riser. The Kobra X D3P bottom riser is interchangeable and can be used with my Kobra X D3P overhead mount system;
• Detailed pdf instructions with pictures and steps;
• Printing requires little or no support.

PRINT SETTINGS
IMPORTANT I upload a print setting files for all my models. The print settings has the parts positioned for correct printing.
I strongly recommended you use my print setting file. If not, I will not be able to assist you if there is an issue when printing. From experience, many of the issues with printing my models are on account of users not using my print settings.
CHANGELOG
If there are any changes to the STL files or print settings I will list them here. I recommend looking at this section prior to printing as it is the only way I can inform users of changes.
3D PRINT SETTINGS
I use the following settings and materials to print this model:
Infill % : 15% (no need for more)
Nozzle diameter: 0.4 mm
Layer height: 0.2 mm standard
Material: PLA or PETG. If you plan on using a dryer on the shelves then PETG is suggested as PLA may deform
ASSEMBLY AND INSTRUCTIONS
A detailed instruction and assembly guide with steps and pictures is available for download with the model files.
TROUBLESHOOTING
All parts and the assembly have been tested multiple times (both printing and assembly).
• Make sure your build properly cleaned and free of grease and oils before printing. This is the cause of adhesion.
• Make sure you use my print profiles/settings (the .3mf file that has multiple plates with all the parts) and that you enable support as indicated for each build plate on the build plate description.
• Filament and printer will affect tolerances however all should fit. If unsure proceed slowly and cautiously.
• If there are any changes I list them in a changelog on the model page. Please have a look at it prior to printing in the event there are any changes.
