Edit: I'll be updating this design. Currently the balance is slightly compromised to accommodate my cork grip that I'm having a hard time letting go of. (boom-tss) Ill be adding a version the brings the top of the battery even with the top of the soldering iron, making it even better balanced in the hand. I will also be addind a version for the Pinecil, whenever mine arrives and I get some time. Cheers-

For anybody that finds themselves here, reading this, it's a good bet you're somebody that will appreciate spending 2-3 minutes to get the background history on this device. It can be found in the RCGroups thread here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3331939-Cordless-Module-for-TS-80-Soldering-Iron

So the idea is simple; take the greatness of the TS80 and set free it free, take it on the road, or untether yourself right at your bench. Having a high performing soldering iron that doesn't need to be tethered to a cord is something that should be experienced first hand (badum-tsss.) If you're like me, you are already excited, and know it will be awesome. For anyone skeptical, it's worth your time to give it try. Even if it seems easy to imagine, it's kinda like a luxury sports car, or any high performance niche hardware, hard to fully appreciate and until you're actually driving it. That's the what..

How it's done is pretty simple, as most of you know already since you brushed up on your history above. For the impatient of you.. well, actually there's nothing here for the impatient. But, for those of you that skimmed your way right here, a single lithium cell booster circuit + a lithium battery + some contraption to attach it all to your [once] sleek TS80 soldering pencil is HOW we do it. Your iron will negotiate using QC protocol for 12V from the battery and booster which together will deliver up to 24W as the iron heats from ambient to 650F in less than 30 seconds. If you ever wore tighty whiteys, untethering is kinda like when you finally switched to wearing anything other than tighty whiteys.

Ill add some instructions, but let's be real. If you're into this sort of thing, I bet seeing the included photos above is enough for you. If you have specific questions, by all means, I am happy to respond int the comment section.
