**SKEWBITS** is an original puzzle game designed specifically for 3D printing. Fit the four unique Skewbits into various silhouettes. You may be surprised by how challenging some of the problems can be!

**Basic Rules**
- Fit the 4 skewbits within each outline. You do not have to fill every space, but most solutions will.
- Only use the skewbits right side up. You may not flip the parts upside down

**_Printing Guidelines_**

- _Grid.stl_ : Your usual print settings should work fine. I used 15% infill, 5 top layers, 0.2mm layer height. Optionally, swap filament above 1.2mm to make the grid stand out.
- _Skewbits A-D_ : 2-3 perimeters, 0.16mm layer height. No supports. Proper extrusion is important to ensure the print-in-place hinges are sturdy without fusing together (Clearance is 0.3mm). Use the colors indicated by the filenames if you want to match the solution guide. **Prints right side up.**
- _Grid_TPUgrip.stl_ -  Optional grip for the bottom of the grid. Print solid using [Ninjaflex TPU](https://bit.ly/ninjaFLEX)(Also on [Amazon](https://amzn.to/45IhDt9)) or similar. Glue in place using [E6000 adhesive](https://amzn.to/3FrgcV9), etc.
- _Grid_LaserGrip.svg_ : Optional grip for the bottom of the grid. Designed for lasercutting. I used 3mm cork. Watch [my video](https://youtu.be/j_jYnhOX49g) for details.

Print Model Description:
This Hindu temple STL is designed to be printed without any support structures. Just drop the model to the print bed, scale to fit and print away. All overhangs have been kept below 45 degrees. The columns and decorative details have been imperceptibly altered to optimise your print. This original 3D stl file was created from scratch by referencing publicly available 3D renders of the original temple.

Architecture:
A new design was prepared by the Sompura family in 2020, in accordance with traditional Hindu architectural principles and sciences. The Sompuras have been part of the temple design of over 100 temples all over the world for at least 15 generations. 
The temple will be 235 feet wide, 360 feet long and 161 feet high. Once complete, the temple complex will be the world's third largest Hindu shrine. It is designed in the Nagara style of Indian temple architecture.The building will have a total of 366 columns. The columns will have 16 idols each to include the incarnations of Shiva, the 10 Avatars of Vishnu and the 12 incarnations of the goddess Saraswati. The width of the stairs will be 16 feet. In accordance with scriptures dedicated to the design of temples dedicated to Vishnu, the sanctum sanctorum will be octagonal.

What is it:
One of the most important Hindu temples to be ever built in the history of India. As of 2021, this is an under-construction temple in city of Ayodhya, at the site believed to be the birthplace of Hindu god Ram.

Why is being built now?
Rama or Ram, considered an incarnation of God Vishnu, is a widely worshiped Hindu deity. He was believed to have been born in Ayodhya in around 5114 BC.
In the 16th century, the Mughals constructed a mosque at the site believed to be the birthplace of Ram. The mosque was demolished by a crowd of 150,000 on Dec 6th 1992. A 1978 and 2003 archaeological excavation by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) found evidence indicating that Hindu temple remains had existed on the site. In 2019 the Supreme Court of India ruled that the land be handed over to the Indian Government for the construction of a Ram Temple.

Funding:
The entire temple complex is being crowdfunded. The donations have already exceeded 10x the estimate of the project.

A super easy to print little egg, perfect for filling up with treats ready to hand out at Easter! 

The 'Egg Whole' has just been uploaded for visualisation purposes, you only need to print the top and base parts. Both parts can be printed with no supports at all. 

The base just snaps on and off so no tricky threads to print either!

Pink print pictured is printed in Polyterra PLA. To help with scale, it's filled with chocolate eggs which are a little bigger than Cadbury mini eggs! This model should scale up or down quite well though!

This stylized Icosahedron prints flat and then folds and snaps into place! That means you can get cool multicolor parts on all faces with simple color swaps... pretty fun stuff!

A faceted bowl - great for showing off silk and multi-coloured filaments! Prints in vase/spiralise mode with no supports

Model in the photos is printed in GNVTNTP magic PLA

Large Facets Bowl (vase mode)

Another amazing Springo printed without supports using regular old PLA! This Springo has a smooth wavy surface that can come off as fun or classy, depending on your color choice.

 

Print at .15mm layer height for this to work correctly. Check the layers in your slicer, there should be a 1-2 layer gap between each layer of the spring. I print with 3 shells/outlines and 7 top, 6 bottom layers so the spring itself is solid. After printing, separate carefully with a palette knife, butter knife, etc. How easily the springo separates will vary based on your printer, filament, slicer settings, etc.. So good luck and please share your results!

You should be very cautious separating the layers of the Springo, but once it's correctly popped apart these things are surprisingly resilient for PLA prints.

Here's the first of many auxetic structures I've been working on. These 9 connected cubes make a great little fidget toy and demonstrate auxetic structures that expand simultaneously in every direction (in 2D)!

**_Printing Guidelines_**

Fairly loose requirements, just make sure your printer isn't overextruding and has decent cooling so none of the parts fuse. I used 0.16mm layer height, 3 shells. No supports!

The Scritcher just got _even scritchier!_ Just like the original Scritcher, this model prints in place and works right off the build plate.

This version has been optimized to be even smaller - under 200mm long. It will fit diagonally on a 6"x6" or 150mmx150mm build plate.

If you're having trouble with the print in place mechanisms, it's likely due to over-extrusion or printing innacuracies fusing gaps. You can decrease flow or extrusion multiplier. Some slicers have a 'horizontal size compensation' setting that you can set to a negative value to increase clearances. Lower layer height can also help, and make sure nothing is warping off the build plate.

Scritcher mini // Print in Place Tiny Hands!

Celebrate the season with this Tippi Jack-O-Lantern! Use the standard Fruit Stem to hang it from your [Tippi Tree](https://than.gs/m/933018), or use the included Pumpkin Stems for all your low poly pumpkin needs.

This Jack-O-Lantern can be printed as a single part, or glue in the _Mouth.stl_ and _Eye.stl_ parts to add some more color. There is also a _Dual_ version included for multicolor printers.

All parts print as oriented without support material. Standard print guidelines are 2-3 shells, 11% infill, 0.16mm layer height.
