Small Helical Heart

This “Small Helical Heart” twists apart into two separate but identical pieces. Print in different colours to highlight the spiral curves.

The “Large Helical Heart” has a hidden compartment for rings or contraband.

The “Large Helical Heart” is 80mm at the widest point, the “Small Helical Heart” is 50mm at the widest point.

Print two copies of the file. In order to preserve a smooth sliding contact surface, print the files on the side as they are oriented. Try raising the model off the bed by 3mm or so and building tree support up to the overhangs.

Wavy Springo

Another amazing Springo printed without supports using regular old PLA! This Springo has a smooth wavy surface that can come off as fun or classy, depending on your color choice.

 

Print at .15mm layer height for this to work correctly. Check the layers in your slicer, there should be a 1-2 layer gap between each layer of the spring. I print with 3 shells/outlines and 7 top, 6 bottom layers so the spring itself is solid. After printing, separate carefully with a palette knife, butter knife, etc. How easily the springo separates will vary based on your printer, filament, slicer settings, etc.. So good luck and please share your results!

You should be very cautious separating the layers of the Springo, but once it's correctly popped apart these things are surprisingly resilient for PLA prints.

Rocket Springo

A spacey Springo for wobbling through the universe! For best results, print at .15mm layer height with 100% infill. You may scale this by proportionately changing layer height. Prints without supports, just carefully pry the Springo apart after printing! I personally only split apart one of the two helical cuts so the rocket is more springy than floppy (and I was scared of breaking it!)
