Futro S930 Double SSD mount

I needed some way of fixing 2 2.5"drives inside the case of my Fujitsu Futro S930. 

This thing can hold 2 drives, the bottom one with two screws, the upper one upside down with three screws.

The holder has small Ts on the bottom to slide into the metal bracket which is next to the motherboard and normally holds things like a PoE module, a speaker or a smartcard reader. It's fixed to the bracket by one screw.

When assembling you have to this in a particular order:
1. First remove the metal bracket from the case.
2. Slide in the holder and put in the one screw to fix it to the bracket.
3. Insert the lower drive and put in the two screws from underneath (then you'll see why it's only two screws holding it)
4. Insert the upper drive and fix it.
5. Mount the bracket with the drives in the holder back into the case.

Steps 4 and 5 are interchangable, there should be enough space to hold the drive and screw it to the holder.

Since I don't have a PoE module at hand I can't say for certain if it still fits with the drives plugged in, but what I know for sure is that there is enough clearance to the top to still insert a PCIE card with a low profile (things like a graphics card won't fit, but a USB or NIC should be fine)

During it's several iterations I found out that the small T sliders are quite fragile, so moving the entire model up by 2mm from the build plate helped with them not snapping of, since there are supports underneath them which you need anyways.

Also worth noting is that I've only tested the holder with SSDs which are quite light. Even though HDDs should fit fine (even the tall ones) I'm not sure how the posts holding the upper drive will hold up with the mass.

I did a single laptop stand design a few days ago and expanded on that. 

Some overhang on the middle 2 ribs, will probably need supports to prevent sagging.

I'm thinking of how to change the design to hold multiple laptops.

Fixum Dude Motors PiP Concrete Truck

Print in place concrete truck with rotating wheels and mixing drum. 

Introducing the FDM (Fixum Dude Motors) print in place concrete truck. The wheels and the concrete mixing drum rotate right off the build plate.

Prints on its side without supports. Sample printed in Hatchbox Blue PLA on the Prusa MINI+ in .25LH Draft mode, with 4 top/bottom layers, 3 perimeters and 10% gyroid infill.

Strong paracord hook

One can learn to tie the Prusik (not related to Prusa) knot or use my ingenious clamps for securing objects. I have created two versions of the clamps:

Outside Hook - This version is simple to print and is my personal favorite.
Inside Hook - This version is slightly more stylish and features a protected inner hook. This design reduces the risk of injuries, especially for children. However, it is not as strong as the outside hook version and may be a bit more challenging to print.
Both versions are designed to accommodate three common paracord diameters:

Cord 550: 4mm (according to specifications)
Cord 550: 3.8mm (dimensions of some brands)
Cord 750: 5mm (also commonly used for various other ropes)
You can scale the clamps proportionally to ensure a proper fit for your specific cord.

These clamps are much stronger than typical clothespins. Their strength doesn't rely on springs but rather on the design of the side lips. When under stress, the cord is prevented from slipping through the lips due to their orientation to the pulling force:


When I tested them, they were able to hold over 20 kg when printed in PET-G. The actual strength may vary depending on the material used and the specific dimensions of the paracord.

Printing Instructions:

Materials: ASA, PET-G (Note: PLA can degrade over time and the clamp is intended for outdoor use)
Print orientation: On its side, as shown in the attached picture. For increased strength, the print lines should follow the spring mechanism.
Wall count: Use at least 4 walls for added durability.
Brim: Optional but can be useful to improve adhesion.
Supports: No supports are needed.
