I want an easy way to prevent the motherboard from touching the work surface while I'm testing/troubleshooting.

Drive an M3 screw through the center hole to use it to locate the motherboard in position. It is possible to put the rest of the screws in but I don't plan to use them, my objective is to prevent the stand from slipping away accidentally while doing testing/troubleshooting.

I might expand on this to use threaded inserts instead and attachments to hold PSU, HDD, or support heavy PCIE components like GPU.
