Tie Fighter X1 for Echo Dot

May the 4th be with you!

I made this to celebrate May the 4th as a project. It is made up of multiple pieces that are to be glued together.

It is designed to fit the 4th/5th Gen Echo Dot

Happy Star Wars Day! Hope you enjoy it!

This is a horrible design and needs to be reworked. None of the panels fit into the wings without major cutting and sanding. A 10 hour waste of print time and filament.

Its a great model, thank you but to echo Fives' Workshop question, assembly seems odd. Are the wing struts just glued on? It seems there is a space for a peg to align but no peg.

Thanks for the reply. Did you have trouble fitting the panel pieces in? Mine are more than snug. They just do not fit. Do you just glue the guns to the bottom? What are the holes for. Thanks in advance.

The Hex hole in the bottom was to help align when gluing. The panel pieces are snug. They go in better if you start with the point near the center then press the outer edge into the wing. You could try printing panels at approx 98% scale, but Im not sure how well that would change the fit. Hope that helps.

I assembled mine with std CA. The panels in the wings are a snug fit (but can be glued). The struts fit into the wings, but have to be lined up with the body and glued.

How do you assemble this?
