At the risk of having my nerd card revoked, I'll admit that I just don't need space for 6 nippers, strippers, and/or pliers.
Rather than waste space with unused bays, I chopped Zack's original file down into this 2x2 Three-Bay Rack!

A parametric file would be great! I've tried a few models and they usually fit most laptops, but can get "stretched" if you use more than one different laptop with the same piece. I think even a parametric file with a simple design like this HD dock could work, but without the lateral walls and taller front walls of course. Thanks, I needed exactly 3 spaces too!
Also, if I'm not asking too much and you (or anyone else reading this) have the time and skills for it, would you mind making a gridfinity laptop stand? (as in storing your laptop upright, not a stand to lift it up while you're using it) Something like this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1492440
Happy to be helpful!
Sounds like a good idea to me! I'll work on that and get back to you when I come up with something. Tough part, as I see it, is making a model that can work for a range of laptop thicknesses. Might just have to make a bunch of different sizes. Would probably be best as a parametric file, so people could customize the width to suit their needs. What do you think?
