This polyhedron light sculpture is rooted in the cuboctahedron, an Archimedean solid built from square and triangular faces. That geometry gives the object an unusually balanced foundation: neither purely cubic nor purely octahedral, but held between the two. In this design, that relationship becomes visible through a strong nested structure, where a square-centered body appears to sit within a larger pointed frame.

The surface language is a customized Piranesi snowflake motif. It carries the architectural movement associated with Piranesi-derived patterning, but has been tuned so the module edges resolve symmetrically. That refinement matters visually. The pattern does not feel interrupted as it crosses the body; it gathers into a continuous field of repeated lines, small structures, and shifting relief.

The extruded surface gives the piece much of its character. Across the faces, the motif rises into ridges and small architectural forms, creating the sense of a miniature world built into the skin of the polyhedron.
