This version stands at just over a meter tall The XL Nutcracker For smaller build plate like 256x256 For larger build plates 320x320 and above please download the XL nutcracker. Buildable using Glue the XL Nutcracker is a must for this season. There are well over 100 parts to assemble and a fun build and print. This version stands at just over a meter tall Connecting Pieces. There are 2 sets of connecting pieces as different printers can have slightly different tolerances. a 0.2 mm and 0.15mm. for this size model i recommend the 0.2mm pieces which are already on the build plates in the 3mf. if you are finding those pieces loose then switch to the 0.15 mm. I suggest printing one of the smaller part and its connecting piece for a test. ive labeled the files differently because of how thangs handles file names. 02 represents 0.2mm and 015 represents 0.15mm. there are 5 different keyed sizes of connecting piece plus some pins. the parts.. there are a larger number of build plates in the 3 mf and your welcome to re arrange as you see fit for printing and getting as many pieces on one build plate as possible. obviously just remember what pieces are for what. Ive tried to keep the parts and the connecting pieces on the same build plate. All the parts are labeled, and with so many pieces i hope i have the correct amount of connecting pieces for each part, i feel like I've checked 100 times over so hopefully ok. when they are named right and left this is as if you are the nutcracker rather than looking at the nutcracker. for example the right boot is your left if you looking at the nutcrackers. all the parts and connecting pieces are keyed so for the most part should only go in one way. There are however a couple of exceptions like the cuffs. it may be hard to tell which way up these go, but you'll notice there isa small flat section on each cuff, this goes inwards. there will be a TikTok video with a build of the nutcracker. so if in doubt please take a look at that. tiktok.com/enique3d Some of the parts did originally have connecting pieces but i found when building they weren't needed. these are mainly the gold decoration pieces on the body and hat. Ive been back in and removed the holes but again although I've checked there could be a rogue piece that may still have a hole. so just ignore this. Once printed id suggest a dry build to make sure all the parts and connecting pieces are there, and it does stand and stay together without glue, but don't try and carry it unglued like i did and drop it 😩 Supports... i printed with normal tree supports enabled. The entire model isn't very support heavy so supports are very minimal. for easy removal id suggest setting the top z to 0.275. you may want to paint only critical areas and avoid supporting some of the smaller holes as they can be a little tricky to get out. the most supported part is probably the hair. this is also the largest part and you may need to rotate diagonally depending on your build plate. I decided to include a stand for the nutcracker, while it stands well without i personally had planned to display outside my house so wanted it protected against wind etc. so you can either print the stand or not. the boots will have the keyed hole. It is a large model so of course does use a lot of filament. while I've set the filament to 8-10% you can probably lower it on some of the larger parts. id suggest keeping a higher infill on some of the smaller parts, especially the connecting pieces. Filaments used.. ive used all Bambu Basic PLA. red gold black mistletoe green biege for the face. matte blue for the eyes and white I hope you enjoy the print and build
0.2 is represented by 02 on file name and 0.15 is represented by 015 on file name.
