I didn't like having to print a full base plate in the original, so I designed a small mount to be able to screw the assembly to a block of wood. It's much more stable this way too. All you have to do is print my part instead of the original base. The holes are quite tight--I tapped the 8mm rods in, and no screws were needed to hold them.
