Gridfinity custom for TacTix 9 compartment organiser
This is an edited set of bins, base plates and a hinged top based on the Gridfinity system by Zac Freeman.
Everything is designed for a TacTix 9 compartment organiser, but could be adapted for any sized container.
I got mine from Bunnings (no affiliation), you can see the case here: https://www.bunnings.com.au/tactix-9-compartment-trade-quality-organiser_p2582724
Print list for one case:
1x Base corners 1 x Gridfinity Gridbase - Part 1 4 cells 1 x Gridfinity Gridbase - Part 2 5 cells 2 x middleshelfrunner 1 x Top Rail no hinge 1 x Rear Top Bracket 1 x 4 x 6 Topgrid 1x 5 x 6 Topgrid 1 x Top Grid Spacers 6 x Top Grid Additonal Filler (if needed) 2 x Pins
I've included a bunch of different sized, bins, but you can create your own by following the below:
Custom Bin creation for the TacTix container
The dodgy , but quick way.I included a bin trimmer.3mf, Open this with 3D Builder in Windows (or another program that lets you edit)
Settings used for bin creation:
You need to resize default bins so they are either a full, 94mm high or 2 x 49.3749 for the TacTix case.
- Put you bin base flat on the green rectangle
- Split the body in half
- Move the top half of the split model, down and right so it hits the top of the red rectangle (take note of the X co-ordinate value.
- Move the lower half of the split model to the same X co-ordinate
- Select both halves and click merge.
For half bins, use the second set of red rectangles, (you may need to perform multiple splits, just be careful not to accidently split between your label shelf)
The I'll do it if there is enough interest way (I'll make a webpage you can upload your .stl and it will automatically split and save the output for you to download).Leave a comment if this is something you want created.
Also, anything over 3 bays wide watch the wall width, .95 might be too thin as they bulge out..
Keeping track of parts Also see, https://github.com/DisasterofPuppets/GridfinityDatabase for a way to keep track of your parts!
