A friend asked me to find a 3D printed cherry picker and described what it looked like. I did not know what this was so I did an internet search and showed him a few images from his description. After he confirmed one of the photos was exactly what he was talking about, I was unable to find a 3D printable one so I designed one! Since I am a novice designer, it took me a bit to figure out how to get what I wanted. I simplified it to make it easier for me to design. I needed to have this able to be mounted onto a threaded pole (such as a broom or paint pole handle). Being a novice designer, this feature was definitely above my skills. Hoping against all hope, I searched Thingiverse for a threaded piece I could "weld" onto my design. I test printed the broom and paint handle to test the fit to a kitchen broom, found I needed to increase the size to 110%. I imported into Meshmixer, increased the handle to 110% and imported my cherry picker design. Combined the two and exported STL.

Notes: I needed to add support but on my first print, the screw threads were hard to clean up. I then printed using custom tree supports under the basket bottom and "teeth" at the top of the basket and also inside top of the basket. No support needed inside the screw thread hole at the bottom. I also used a 10mm outside brim for build plate stability. It printed flawlessly! I used PETG to be a bit more durable and temperature tolerant.
