This pulley was designed for low to medium operational loads, but will hold the rope up to the breaking strength of the soft shackle that was used in the assembly. Use 3mm dyneema lines for the soft shackle, and rope up to 6mm in diameter for the running line. The pulley has been tested up to 100kgf under the sun for 3 days. No deformation was observed.

Printing

Use carbon fiber reinforced PLA for the inner rings as well as for the pulley wheel. The more stiff the material is, the more even the loading on the BB soft gun balls will be. Use regular Pla or PLA+ for the side plates for more flexibility during side-loading and rope vibration. White would be the best choice as it is the color that heats up the less under the sun. PLA is compatible with most glues, so methacrylate glue will adhere well to the parts during assembly. Use 100% infill for the inner rings and the pulley wheel. Use 50-100% infill for the side plate.

Assembly

The side plates have a sacrificial layer that has to be cut out. This layer allows printing without supports and thus saves filament. Lay the pulley wheel and the right inner ring flat. Introduce 10 pieces of 6mm BB soft gun balls while lifting the pulley. Add 10 more balls to complete the second row. Apply some methacrylate glue (superglue) to the joining surface of the left tinner ring, and press the two rings together. At last, glue the two sides panels. Insert the soft shackle and enjoy.

Old style paddle holder for older Bombard inflatable dinghy boat. This is a drop in replacement for the older style Bombard oar holder, but is designed to be much stronger. The original piece is injection molded and only around 1,5 mm thick. This replacement part is 6 mm tick and has an integrated M4 stainless bolt in the stem for added strength, as the part is prone to split at the stem and the ring shaped section.

Part list:
1 piece of stainless steel M4 bolt with hexagonal head, 40 mm long threaded section and 43 mm length over all
2 pieces of washers with an outside diameter of 11.5 mm
1 piece of M4 nut

Printing
It is best to use a more tougher material as PLA as this part is structural and is subject to great loads while paddling. A good choice would be PETG or tough PLA. Nylon would be great as well but could be a challenge to print as the part requires support under the stem.
100% concentric infill, a high flow multiplier ratio and high temperatures paired with slower printing will make the part stronger.

Post processing
Remove the support, file blobs, insert the M4 bolt with washers and a nut, and tighten the nut.

Use 3mm thick bungee cord to hold the coils up and secure to the hook. The knot is neatly hidden from sight in the dedicated knot chamber. The foot provides a large area to glue the hook to a flat section of your cockpit wall. No drilling is needed, so there is no risk of leaks. Secure the masking tool to the cockpit surface using masking tape. Use a thick layer of sika or other similar glue between the back side of the hook and the cockpit surface. At the end of life cycle just cut the glue layer with an exacto knife and remove the glue residues. A yellowish mark on the gel coat might be visible after removal, but that will whiten out with time and UV exposure.
