I needed a simple lightweight x-carriage for Pitan direct extruder when building an [iTopie](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:888609). It should work on any i3 design with 45mm apart 8mm rods and GT2 belt for the x-axis.

The x-carriage has been redone in Tinkercad but is heavily based on [beyondwind's x-carriage](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:982921). The motor mount is the base one from the [Pitan](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2728600), the belt holder is imported directly from zisoft's [Anycubic I3 Mega Prusa i3 X-Carriage Converter](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3495652).

I wanted to use an E3D V6 with a direct extruder on my Prusa Mendel. But couldn't find matching extruder and x-carriage. The Pitan extruder looked like a good option but still no matching x-carriage. The distance between the bearing holder on dvjcodec's x-carriage is just the 30mm needed for the hothend fan and its duct, so I just cut a hole in it with Tinkercad, made a mount for the Pitan and voila.

Note: There is no room to secure both bearing on the fan side with zip tie. But it seems the weight of the full carriage with zip ties on three bearings it enough to keep the fourth one in place.

Instead of adding it on top of the belt clamp, I merged them into the design.

My cooler has a small pipe in the bottom on one side to easily get the water from melted ice out. The original one broke quickly. To avoid having a leaking cooler, I designed a simple pipe cap for it.
