Magnetic closure textile clutch
This is a new style of bag that uses embedded magnets for the closure. It has a larger opening and a wider bottom. This will require some basic sewing skills. There is a video demonstrating the processes used to create the bag. If you have any questions please send an email to kaizen3dprints@gmail.com.
There is a basic square grid version in addition to a dragon con textile with the bag negative modifier. To create a custom bag, choose a different base textile and use the accompanying negative modifier STL to create the pattern. Modify it further with SVG modifiers for multi color machines. See the included PDF guides for additional info and steps. The included PDF's include generalized information and may not reflect this model in particular, but the processes are the same.
You will need: A 3D printer A holographic build plate for added effect 2 - 20cm x 20cm pieces of mesh 2 - 20cm x 20cm pieces of lining 2 - 60mm x 10mm x 3mm bar magnets e6000 or fabric adhesive
This is sized for a 256mm x 256mm build plate and is printed at 35mm/s with a .24mm layer height. You can use a stretchy, or non stretchy mesh as you'd like. The first layer is printed followed by a pause command. Place your mesh over the first layer and secure it with magnets. Resume the print. After printing two copies, line them with a soft fabric and sew them together. Trim away the excess material along the top. Pin them right sides together and sew the outer and bottom edges. Fold the corner edges against each other and machine or hand sew them closed. Fold the bag right sides out and attach the top hardware and seam protectors with an adhesive like e6000 or fabric adhesives. The handles are printed at .2mm layer height with a pause at layer 61. Use 2, 60mm x 10mm x 3mm bar magnets and place them in the handles with opposing polarities. Resume the print and the magnets will be enclosed inside the handle. Connect jump rings to the top of the handles and finish it with a strap or chain of your choosing. Enjoy!
