Multiboard

My wife's big into sewing and embroidery. So, in much the same way that many of us have a ton of filament varieties, she's got a truckload of thread in various forms. I went through a series of organizers for her thread, mostly plates with spikes and hamfisted dovetail joints to hold them together.

She really dug the Gridfinity organizer I made for her desk, so we went with that idea. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you...

**Threadfinity**.

Using the Fusion 360 Gridfinity generator, I made a 2x3 bin, chopped off the top, leaving a flat plate with Gridfinity bottom on it, so I added the spikes back to the top of the plate. There are Small and Large variants - it's all about the diameter of thread spools, the modules are the same 2x3 footprint.

2 sets of models here - one with tight magnet holes, one with looser holes. On the loose one, you may need to glue the magnets in. I prefer the tight ones, though I use a trigger clamp to squeeze them in.

She also has a few of these bins from The Container Store (SKU# 10088669, the 11.75 x 15.75 x 4.75" model). 2 of the included 6x4 Gridfinity base plates (I used light, included here) fit PERFECTLY side-by-side in the bin. Threadfinity modules are 2x3, so you can fit 8 modules in that bin! For your convenience, I've included a model for that 6x4 plate, though generating your own would be a relatively trivial exercise.

For desktop use, I also threw in a bobbin holder and a little 2x2 split bin. Enjoy!

Oh look! Another tape holder for Multiboard, right? Yes, there are plenty of options, but I just didn't find any that I liked. This design is super simple - just a cylinder with a stop on the end to keep the roll of tape from falling off, and a Multiboard big thread on the other end. The profile contains 2 versions - 55mm and 110mm holders. Got more tape? Go for the big one.

I'm in the process of converting my office wall from HSW to Multiboard. As such, I'm looking for Multiboard alternatives to my old HSW things, especially for cases where the HSW-based thing uses the large connector. I really liked [MG Print's holder](https://makerworld.com/en/models/513281#profileId-429382) but wasn't jazzed about the 2-part assembly thing. I found [Patryk's remix](https://makerworld.com/en/models/675158#profileId-603205), which was a single piece, but the ring was just too big to securely hold the hygrometer. Fortunately, MG published a STEP file, so mimicking his ring was simple. Meanwhile, I went with Patryk's idea of a single body, despite needing a tiny support and here we are!

I use these [hygrometers from Amazon](https://a.co/d/1f7TsEr) if it matters. Pretty much all of the round ones seem to be the same thing.

I drew inspiration from Joosdt's very nice [A1 Hotend Holders for HSW](https://makerworld.com/en/models/113543#profileId-122019), specifically the cutout at the bottom of the box. Apart from that, this is 100% original work on my part.

I'm in the process of converting from HSW to Multiboard, and at the same time, decided to get away from the individual holders and create a single holder that houses 4 hotends, so in my case, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8mm. I keep 2 sets of hotends around, 1 for PLA, another for PETG, hence the multiple models. There's also a no-label version, as well as the Fusion archive. If you plan on using the labeled versions, you'll want to have an AMS, MMU, or similar media changer, or something with multiple toolheads like a Prusa XL (lucky you!).

Be aware - these use the [Multiconnect connector](https://www.printables.com/model/716558-multiconnect-generic-connector-for-your-multiboard), so as to maintain compatibility with both Multiboard as well as HSW.

I printed these in eSun PLA+ with a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, and 15% infill. No supports are needed.
