Get near full compatibility using Ikea Skadis compatible accessories on your MutliBoard tiles!
Sounds like an easy problem to solve, but the spacing interval of Skadis (20mm offset) to MultiBoard (25mm) causes a lot of ‘backlash’ for each system's holes to line up. Below is an image of all the different parts included in this release and how they relate to one another. There are essentially 2 spots on MultiBoard I use as an origin for parts. The two large 5x5 parts utilize this. All the other parts are related, but smaller parts based off these two's footprints. You can use the image below to get an idea of which parts you need in order to get your part working on the MultiBoard. While the 5x5 parts hare massive, many parts require few Skadis slots to function. For example the wide Skadis accessories often use 3 lots with a maximum of 7 slots apart. You could accomplish this with two “MB1x1 1 hole Skadis offset” and “MB1x1 1 hold Skadis center” parts places appropriately on your Multiboard.
These adapters mount offset from the face of the multiboard to allow the Skadis accessory hooks to slide down the back of the adapter. As Multiboard is a bit thicker than a Skadis board there wasn't an easy solution otherwise.
To attach these parts to the MultiBoard you will need at minimum 2 included bolts spaced opposite diagonally from one another. Typically two bolts are very strong, but if you want to use even more, it couldn't hurt.
This release also includes some Skadis snaps that sit more flush to a Multiboard. These are a bit more limited in use but can accommodate 1 and 2 slot hooks for example.
