Hextraction Decree Tile
A new rules-manipulating tile for Zack Freedman's Hextraction. This tile embraces the "Calvinball" nature of the game by allowing you to just make up a new rule. Be sure to make a fun or interesting rule - annoying rules will cause this tile to be voted off the board. Of course, destroying this tile also removes the new rule.
Rules Text: On Play: Declare a new rule about tile placement. Ongoing: Players must obey the rule unless there are no other options.
Good examples:
- "No playing along the edges."
- "You must play next to a tile with a matching color."
- "You can't play adjacent to the last tile played."
Game-changing examples:
- "Players may always overwrite other tiles."
- "You can play two tiles on your turn, but only if you roll before doing so."
- "Before you play a tile, the player to your left can ban a slot."
Bad examples:
- "No playing next to the on-ramps/end-zones." (This just delays the game until the rest of the board fills up)
- "Zack can't play tiles." (Mean, and also pointless - due to the ongoing effect, Zack can ignore the rule as there are no "legal" options)
- "Play can only happen in odd numbered columns on odd numbered turns, and vice versa for even columns and even turns. The same also applies for rows only the odds and evens are switched." (About as fun as a root canal)
- "You can play all three tiles on your turn." (Likely to cause an instant win)
Notes: Why isn't this tile Forbidden? The keyword isn't needed, as adding rules isn't a prohibited effect. Additionally, if it were Forbidden, players could make rules that violate Section 0 of the Tediously Comprehensive Rules. As-is, if the new rule does violate Section 0, you can just ignore it.
You don't have to be a stickler about Section 0, though. If your niece declares you have to clap three times before you play a tile, you'd better do it.

Wonderful idea.
