This is a modular desk organizer that is based on a grid system. The grid can be expanded or shortened depending on your needs.
Inspiration for this project comes from Alexandre Chappel and the Ugmonk Gather desk system.
There are currently several modules designed for the grid:
- Drawer module
- Phone stand module
- Wallet and cards module
- Keys and coins module
- Post-it and pen module
- USB and dongle module
To keep the design fun and colorful, I recommend printing the base grid in one color and the modules in another.
A single grid piece is 3x5. I recommend printing at least 2 of these grid pieces and supergluing them together. Personally, I have 3 grid pieces.
I have found it best to place a module on the grid pieces to ensure the grids are in-line when gluing them together. Just make sure not to use too much glue and glue the module to the grid.
I also recommend placing anti-slip nubs on the solid, filled in spaces in the grid. I used *these cheap nubs from Amazon and they have worked great.
All of the modules were printed in white PLA with a .15mm layer height and 20% infill. The grid was printed in Prusament Galaxy Black PLA with a .15mm layer height and 20% infill.
