Resized approx. x1.3 to make a little more show worthy, fixed cage for s3d slicing, designed a base to suite a $6 usb touch lamp from KMART with a 105mm round base http://www.kmart.com.au/product/led-touch-lamp-white/1937307 (remove the head and wire in some clear white LEDs)…
Or some copper string lights http://www.kmart.com.au/product/3m-twinkle-lights/765061
poke in 2 lights in each hole and 1 light every 2nd gap around the glow ring and bunch the rest inside the glow cap...

Will probly modify the design to suite particular lights in the future...

Print in your choice of colours or paint and light it up!!!

Was thinking about making the upright hollowed in some way to save filament? please let me know what you think.

Final update (maybe...) - redesigned from scratch with solidworks... now it should print smoother and be a little better looking... added a "non bearing" model aswell...
Print laying flat with the mounting foot piece sticking up...

Print with supports under the bearing shafts (they are floating by a few mm) to eliminate mushroom foot then they should require almost no cleanup...

removed logo, mirrored cable stay to utilise the "cable chain" type movement where the cable goes to the right then loops left to make smoother cable movement

This Mod was designed with the intent to use as much stock parts as possible of the 2022 tronxy x5sa pro 400 and make it direct drive (without firmware mods)

!!! apart from a 5015 blower if you want (will add a smaller 4010 version if requested)

removes weight of metal hotend shroud 
removes more weight from steel back plates (cutting required to clear the stepper as per photos- elongate holes on back plate if needed)
retains as close as possible level sensor location
prevents hotend fan from cooling the heater (better temps and more stable for petg and abs)

ALSO this mod retains the original cable chain mount height along with an awesome wiring hole....woot woot

i opted for a slim stepper to save another 100g or more

print with supports (from bed only) use ABS for best weight reduction and temp resistance
PETG would be ok aswell but heavier and not so good if printing hot materials alot

UPDATE... V2 print with 1.8mm shells, no top/bottom/infill... faster and more durable
should be 1.8mm thick... 



Seen a few, combined a few ideas... not the fastest or smallest design but should be comfortable and durable and a very good "multi-fit" even with ponytail

3 shells @ 0.6 line width 

OR FASTER 
with a 0.8 nozzle print at 0.9 line width

1.8mm walls and 0.3 layers... bump up speed, temp and flow to suit but also to make sure the walls join securely... 

ZERO infill/top/bottom needed
