A Gridfinity adapter is nothing more than the bottom mating portion with a flat top surface. This enables you to fasten whatever you want to a Gridfinity system without needing to 3d model anything specific.
For example, if you already have a great case for your tool, just glue the tool case to an appropriately sized adapter and bam, now it's a Gridfinity case.
Also included in the download is the Fusion360 .f3d file.

I don’t know if people are using fusion 360, but there is an adding for fusion360 to create gridfinity baseplates and bins. I printed this because I needed a big flat surface on my gridfinity.
OpenSCAD complained about the 1x4 adapter plate that it couldn't render it when merged with another object. It seems there are either holes and/or incorrect normals on some faces. Used Blender to mix the thing I wanted to make with the adapter, which worked.
Hey, I noticed that the bigger base plates (3x3, 3x4, ...) have an Error, where the adapter part at the bottom is inverted. That means where the holes should be it's filled and around there's emptyness. Noticed this when importing the model into Tinkercad.
Thank you for these models! They are great for quickly bashing together Gridfinity adapters in FreeCAD!
I noticed some "feet" stick out a bit further than the top sheet, on some models. This can be seen in the preview if you set orientation to top. I noticed this on at least 2x3, 3x3 and 4x4.
Great idea, was going to do this as well, but you've got it covered. Did you see my height adapting spacers?
Love you more!
I love this community so ******* much
I did see and thats a genius idea. I was going to make something similar but yours is a much better design.
