Yet Another Screwdriver Holder for Multiboard
INFO I have created a Bolt-Lock version of this model here for those that are interested.
I searched for screwdriver holders but almost everyone I found required me to insert the screwdriver into a hole in a ledge. I wanted something that just allowed me to "grab & pull" the screwdriver off the Multiboard. The closet I found to what I wanted was from @Stranula on Printables.
This gave me the incentive to try my own thing out and here is what I have created so far:
- Single Pushfit small
- Single Pushfit regular
- 6-Up Pushfit rail for small screwdrivers
- 6-Up Pushfit rail for 3 small and 3 regular
The small clip will take a screwdriver with a shaft diameter of 2.5-4mm The regular will take a screwdriver with a shaft diameter of 3-6mm
I have printed them using Basic PLA and they seem to stand up well to multiple removal/insertions without loosing their springiness, but only time will tell :-) It was my first attempt in FreeCAD of using b-splines and creating a spring effect so I learnt a lot while trying to create these clips.
I printed using standard settings, only changing to 3 wall loops.

This is perfect, something that was frustrating me about other models is that they were just gaping holes, and the other thing was that they didnt really work well with the modularity aspect of multiboard, the single push fits are perfect for this because you can use them even with a random selection of mismatched screwdrivers. One note for anyone else printing this, is when first inserting the screwdriver into the loop it can be a little stiff, but not an issue after the first fit
