This is a remix of the Octo Skull model by Peter Farell. The original model is his amazing design, this version is my remix to make a candle holder for Halloween.
With Halloween being right around the corner, I found these awesome bleeding taper candles at Walmart for a couple bucks. I didn't have any of that type of candle holder and figured it would look cool dripping onto a skull, which took me to the Octo Skull.
The design is amazing, though a bit hard to print as is. I removed 15mm to make printing easier and the include 3mf file has supports setup that worked well for me. There are three 25mm holes to hold the candles, centered as best as possible so they drip onto the skull well.
I recommend a low percentage, gyroid type of infill. I used lightning infill for the first one I printed and it worked fine except for the bottom of the candle slots. There was barely any infil to print those layers on, so one of the slots came out rough and not fully connected. So, use lightning at your own risk.
I printed at 0.2mm layer height, adaptive towards the top to make it smoother. I used normal supports with the ‘snug’ profile and everything printed well.
