LoriotL_2mm_54.stl
This is a 2mm:1ft scale model of a GWR Loriot L, diagram G13. This version of the model includes a sprue of NEM coupler pockets and another of scale 2'9" 8-spoked wheels. The body has a slight recess behind each headstock to seat the top of the coupler pocket, to be kept in with a little glue. Please read the notes on the other model about getting the wheels in and out. The wheels need to be cut free of the cage they are printed in, and the coupler pockets separated from their sprue. There are spares of each in case your NEM coupler tangs are a tight fit and have a tendency to break the pockets. Compared to version 48, this model has better detail and compared to version 51 it has improved wheel clearances. If you have wheels and coupler pockets already, you can save a little money by buying the version of this model which I have uploaded without them. Peco 6mm diameter wheels will be too big, but 5.5 mm diameter Peco Parkside or 5.5mm diameter 2mm Society ones (on N-gauge axles) may be OK. Not tried yet. The last 2 photos show the attachment of a 14 mm x 36 mm plate of copper, cut from 0.4mm thick sheet, to the underside for weight. Fitting the space available, this material provides more weight and is much cleaner than using lead shot and glue.
