Battery-Powered Cyberpunk Desk Fan

It's a simple, robust, and easy-to-print desk fan that gets the job done and looks unique while doing it.

Key Features:
  • Unique Cyberpunk Aesthetic: Celebrates the beauty of function with exposed battery packs and wiring.
  • Easy to Print: Designed with no supports.
  • Simple Assembly: Uses standard M3 screws and heat-set inserts for a robust construction.
  • Battery Powered: Runs on 4 standard AA batteries for complete portability.
BOM - Bill of Materials (What you'll need):

Screws:

  • 4x M3, 10mm length
  • 4x M3, 4mm length

Heat-Set Inserts:

  • 1x M3, 6mm length (for the central motor mount)
  • 1x M3, 3mm length (for the propeller hub)

Electronics:

Printing Instructions:

I recommend using PETG or ASA for better durability, but PLA works fine as well.

  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Infill: 5-15%
  • Supports: Not required if your printer handles bridges well.
Assembly:
  1. Solder the wires from the two battery holders and the motor together (and to the optional switch). Ensure they are connected in parallel (red to red, black to black) to provide the necessary amperage.
  2. Use a soldering iron to gently heat and insert the M3 heat-set inserts into their designated holes. (4 in front, 2 on each side)
  3. Press the motor into the motor cover and push the wires through the small slit.
  4. Insert the motor into the case and insert the 2 dovetails; they are press-fit.
  5. Attach the propeller to the motor shaft.
  6. Screw everything together using the M3 screws.

Hope you like it! Please post your makes, I'd love to see them!
