What is the purpose of the "Small Bolt-Lock Nub"? I added this part to a wall mount for some tools, and they do not fit into Snaps be bolt locked. A multipoint threads into it fine.

This seems to be for small threads? I take it there isn't a version of the mid thread bolt lock insert yet?

Looking forward to the mid-thread locking bolt version too!

I've tried importing these STEP files into FreeCAD (multiple different versions) but they all give an import result of "Cannot compute Inventor representation for the shape of Unnamed#Solid: NCollection_Array1::Value".

Running a Geometry Check on the imported file shows "Edge 55: Invalid Curve on surface".

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Does anyone know how I can fix it?

I have the same problem with FreeCad and fixed using Cad Assistant https://www.opencascade.com/products/cad-assistant/ If I understands it correctly both uses Open Cascade Step Translator, but probably not the same version.

I open the file in Cad Assistant and save it to another file which can then be open in Freecad.

Hope this helps you.

Why does it give me Non Manifold errors with Freecad?

You could also use Cad Assistant to fix the file or that would be my guess.
