8x8 MU - Simple Bolt-Locked Shelf

This shelf connects to Moderate Snaps or Heavy Hook Snaps and is secured using Locking Bolts. Keep in mind, Heavy Hook Snaps are stronger than Moderate Snaps but they don't work with flush mounted boards.

Special support brackets can also be added to this Shelf for extra support.

This shelf is 4x4 cells (200x200 mm).

Printing Guidelines:

Use 3 perimeter wall thickness, 0.2 mm layer height, 15% infill, and no supports. Apart from that, use your printer's default settings.

The printing orientation is as provided in the file. Make sure the downloaded files are .STL. This part has been designed with a tolerance of 0.25 mm. Your printer will need to be able to bridge gaps of up to 30 mm for some designs.

They don't even work. The recommended bolts aren't long enough to properly engage the shelf threads https://i.imgur.com/wEm1q41.png

Yes old design with the standardized multipoint that works lots of places was a simpler less parts design

Author, why complicate this detail? Why not use standard snaps instead of non-standard, incomprehensible ones? I spent a few hours today trying to attach this shelf to my multiboard, but I still couldn't do it. No fasteners available allow this to be done. Dear author, please change this model and introduce standard snaps.

I've just about had it with multiboard. Getting anything to work is a major struggle. For example, the locking bolt shown above should be one full thread longer so it can catch shelf threads but you can barely engage the threads on the shelf. Maybe, with a little luck you can get a partial thread lock but it probably won't hold for long.

There's been plenty of other similar frustrations where nothing seems to quite work. It's always close but no cigar.

Ok, I've had some success finally. The locking bolts should be one thread turn long but I'm getting a handle on the myriad parts and choices available. I like the system and hope it can work as hoped. Thanks!
