I needed a toy for my son for when I'm playing on my PS5 so he can “join”, without endangering my real controllers, so I designed this easily printable little controller toy.

Attention and disclaimer: If you make this for a young child, keep an eye out for them playing with it at all times to make sure no parts break off and become a tempting snack (and choking hazard) for them. I designed this so that if any part happens to break, they should break inside the casing and stay there… But you can never be sure.

Assembly:

Stick — The stick will work fine, albeit very floppily, without a rubber band. But if you want the stick to return to default position, weave an elastic string through the holes in the stick base and the stick. Lower holes to lower holes and upper holes to upper holes. Pull the string tight-ish and tie into a knot.

Roller and buttons rubber band — Insert the roller axle into the roller and drop in the middle. Add a rubber band so it rests on the grooves of the four pylons.

Buttons — Push the buttons on the pylons so the rubber band goes in the grooves in the buttons.

Shoulder buttons, the spring and the knob — Insert the shoulder button spring in the middle groove and put the shoulder buttons and the knob in the correct positions.

Top plate — Carefully push the top plate in. Make sure the shoulder button spring tips are under the shoulder button blades.

Bottom bolt — There is a hole for a M3 bolt in the bottom if you want to secure the case a bit better. The hole is covered with a 0.2mm support layer to make sure it prints ok, so you might need to cut it open with something sharp.

ALL DONE!
