I am very interested in things that are only possible with FDM 3D printing. Examples include design without support, Vase mode, etc. That's why we created many designs using this.
Among the things that are only possible with FDM 3D printing, one that has not been tried yet is the Hairy style design using the Bridge function.
This was shown at its best in Hairy lion. However, while the Hairy lion is a great design, I thought it was very wasteful to have the outer surrounding wall thrown away. So, I thought that if I developed this method further, it would be possible to create a design with less filament waste.
This time, I came up with an idea to implement it, so I designed it. That's the Hairy gardening christmas tree.
The idea is to connect the leaves to the branches with a bridge. Since the branches act as a wall, you can use all the leaves by cutting them without throwing anything away.

When cutting leaves, just roughly cut the middle of the branches.
And depending on how you cut it, the tree takes on a variety of shapes.
Cutting the leaves can be done before inserting the branches into the trunk, or you can cut the leaves after inserting the branches to complete the tree.
However, it is best to cut the leaves connected to the trunk as close as possible so that no leaves remain on the trunk.
You can insert the branches freely, but if you insert the long outer branches into the bottom hole of each trunk and the short inner branches into the upper hole of the trunk, it will resemble a cone-shaped Christmas tree.
You can copy and print as many ornaments as you want to attach to the branches.

Designing objects that appear in hand-drawn animation requires a lot of creativity. This is because hand-drawn representations are not accurate. And a lot of people like to be creative. The previously designed Mystery machine has also been well received by 3D printer users. So, as my next project, I designed a bikini bottom bus that appears in SpongeBob SquarePants.

The printing and assembly process is very simple, but there are a few caveats.
1. If parts such as window frames or headlights are loose, attach them with adhesive.
2. When connecting the lower body and upper body, check the protrusions and holes and connect them properly. There is a risk of breaking the protrusions if they are connected in a state where they are not properly positioned.
3. The side door is stiff and may not open well. But if you open and close and repeat a few times, the side door will work just fine.

The Dodge Charger is a car that has been loved by so many people. That's why it appeared in many movies and TV shows, and one of them is "Dukes of Hazzard". In this TV show, Dodge Charger appears in a very unique painting. There are also a lot of people who like the Dodge Charger in this unique painting. When I designed the Foldable Dodge Charger, there were many requests from many people to make a car with this unique painting. Of course, so I made it.

The key to creating this design is how well the painting is presented. Most of the paintings were well expressed, but the stars were omitted due to their too small size.

The notable thing about this design is that the windows are separated. If you print these separated windows in black, people will mistake them as if they had windows. This is a common technique for car windows to be black.
Anyway, this made the car that looked very simple so far looked more realistic.
This separation of windows is not possible in all foldable designs. This is because the folding structure takes up a lot of space inside, so it is difficult to add a structure and space to fit the windows.

However, in the future, I plan to think more about the reproduction of colors as well as the form. Stay tuned.

I designed a stand to display the Saturn V rocket which was very popular with our customers. 
The design of this display stand was referenced from Kennedy Space Center, which displays the actual Saturn V rocket, and the exhibition structure at Kennedy Space Center.  All stages of the Saturn V rocket can be displayed connected or separated.  Since the Lunar module is left behind on the moon, we designed a stand that represents the lunar surface for the Lunar module.

This time, I finally challenged the tank. Yes, it is a foldable tank. The first selected model was the German Tiger-1 late model, well known in World War II.

Since almost every detail has been expressed, just looking at it will give you great pleasure.
As with other designs, this design has a lot of moving parts, especially wheels, so it is necessary to adjust the height of the nozzle well so that the gaps do not stick when printing the first layer.
In particular, the most important thing to note when printing this design is to print the Track / caterpillar. Pay attention to the print of the first layer so that the Track / caterpillars do not stick together.

The process of folding this design is as follows.
1. Fold the front part first. Since the living hinge is used, fold it carefully and slowly so as not to break it.
2. Insert the side part with wheels on the front part and the top part. Check and fit each protrusion and hole.
3. Insert the rest of the side part. The body has been completed.
4. Connect the two tracks / caterpillars first.
5. Wind the track / caterpillar around the wheel. There is a change in shape, and the non-simple side is the outside of the track / caterpillar.
6. Fit the start and end parts of the track / caterpillar.
7. Put the cannon on the turret.
8. Glue the small parts on the back.

※ If the track is loose, try the following method.
1. If you increase the material flow in all slicers, more material will be discharged and the volume of the part will increase. This effect reduces the gap between the parts so that the tracks do not come loose or fall out.
2. And in case of using additional Cura, use Outer wall inset or Skin overlap percentage option.

In response to numerous requests from customers, I designed the F-22 Raptor for 3D printing.
The main features are:
1. The missile hangar can be opened and closed.
2. The angle of the wing flaps can be changed.
3. The angle of the horizontal tail wings can be changed.
4. The angle of the thrust vectoring flap at the rear of the engine can be changed.
5. Landing gears can be equipped.

Precautions to be taken when printing and making are as follows:

1. When printing wings, it is recommended to use a brim so that it does not fall off the bed during printing.
2. If the brim is not cut accurately, the parts may not fit well, so please remove the brim carefully.
3. The flap of the main wing is not designed to move, but is designed to be attached to the user's desired angle.
4. Hold the thrust vectoring flap at the rear of the engine with pliers and turn it into place.

F-22 Raptor

The Cybertruck has finally been released and has begun to be delivered to consumers. Seeing people who had waited for a long time so happy made me envious. Anyway, congratulations!
However, the released Cybertruck had many different aspects. So, this time, I created a production Cybertruck that was released with a changed form.

The design changes are as follows:
1. The front part changed from a flat surface to a slightly curved surface, which was reflected in the shape.
2. The hood can now be opened and closed, achieved with a new structure.
3. Wipers and side mirrors were added so this was also made.
4. The door of the loading space has been changed and the door has been modified accordingly.
5. To prevent the wheels from protruding beyond the wheel arches, the wheel axles were slightly narrowed to reflect this.

In addition, improvements have been made to areas that were disappointing in the previously designed folding Cybertruck V2.0. The areas of improvement are as follows:

1. Many people responded that the lamination marks on the doors on both sides were not good for their appearance, so we designed them by printing them separately and attaching them. As a result, the wave-like lamination traces on the door panel are no longer visible.
2. The tonneau cover I designed previously showed a tank track-like structure, but this time, I improved it so that the structure was no longer visible.

Foldable Cybertruck Production Version

It is the first foldable biomechanics to prepare 4D printing. This design was inspired by the biomechanics that appeared in the British drama "Doctor Who" (1963).
This product focuses on the reinterpretation of the original form in a modern way and the production of a new proportion.

This is the kind of "3D Fan art". My imagination has been added so it is difficult to see the original shape before folding it.

In particular, I made it possible to open and close the outer armors to see the inside. This interior was filled with my imagination. Even if this is different from the original, please understand.
The telescopic manipulator arm and the eye of the head are designed to have a separate print structure. The part of the eye that is attached to the head of this can be rotated by 90 degrees.
When inserting the telescopic manipulator arm, first push the arm down and then fold it in. There is an additional part of the arm which has a keyhole shape. Please check the shape carefully and insert it.
The chest is designed to open on both sides. The lower part of the body is designed to open and close while sliding forward.

Designed for easy folding of complex structures, this product has been designed to meet the needs of popular 4D printing in the future.
It will revolutionize 3D printing as a totally new structure design that does not need to be supported nor assembled, just fold.

Foldable Dalek

I've finally completed the Saturn V rocket that spacecraft/rocket fans have been constantly asking me to build.
Features of this design include:
1. The process of launching this rocket, landing on the moon, and returning to Earth was all reproduced as desired.
2. Efficient color segmentation tried to color the prototype Saturn V well.
3. I tried to express all the details based on various materials.

This design, like the other rockets I've designed, is large and has a lot of parts, so it will take a long time to complete a print.
There are a few things to note about this process.
1. Depending on the separation phase of your rocket, there are things you can and shouldn't use glue for. Please check this carefully.
2. The characters are slightly skewed for better printing. Please check the direction of this tilt carefully and put it in advance before bonding.
3. Fold the escape tower well and insert it well into the hole at the bottom of the launch escape system and insert it well into the hole at the top of the boost protective cover. And use adhesive to fix it, so you have to be careful to fit it vertically.
4. The lunar lander's landing gear fits well by turning and twisting it like the pistons of the heavy equipment I designed. These landing gears have a slight indentation where the U-shaped structure fits, care must be taken not to break this part.
5. Alphabets are written from A to D on the booster stabilizer fin of the first stage rocket. Please check this order and the position where they fit.

Although there are 3D printers or devices that can print multiple colors at the same time, the completeness is not yet perfect. Setting up is also difficult, and the amount and time of filament consumed in the purge box is quite large. So, I recently made some folding designs so that some can be printed and pasted according to the color or material. The reaction of 3D printer users to this was good, so I took this opportunity to design the main concept to print and attach parts separately according to color.

The number of parts is so large that printing is a bit cumbersome, but the making process is very simple. Simply insert the parts to match the color and then fold. However, the upper part of the vehicle is a type that wraps the lower part, so you only need to pay attention to this. Please check the video for more details.

Foldable Mystery Machine - Scooby Doo

On Halloween, there will be no items worthy of this Dracula. Although you can see what it is at the moment of viewing, it is the best to get the mood alive.

The basic internal structure is designed so that it can be printed at one time by applying a hinge which does not need to be assembled, and the lid and the body are fitted thereon.

It is good to print with the lid slightly opened so that the internal structure does not stick together. The outer lid and body were made with fine decoration to fit the Dracula coffin. The handles can be attached on both sides, so that the detail can not be followed from the others.

If you have a taste for these ornaments or a playful atmosphere after Halloween, it would be nice to put all kinds of things in your usual way.

I made a treasure chest which appeared frequently in pirate movies. The inside is made to be able to print at once using the hinge structure not to be assembled.
In this internal structure, it is challenged to print the oblique angle instead of the vertical according to the feature of the treasure box shape having various angles unlike the former one.
As the angle of the hinge becomes possible, the possibility of applying to more various forms has opened.

The outer lid requires a lot of support, so be careful when printing.

It can be used to store small things, such as a desk clip, a post-it, or a thumb drive. If you want to keep something special, you can use it to fit the size.

I designed it for the coming Halloween day. This jack o lantern is very simple, consisting of two parts: the body and the stem. This design is made with thin shapes of eyes, nose and mouth for stable printing and soft lighting effect.

For the upcoming Halloween, we designed a sarcophagus-shaped box in a graveyard that can hold candy or other miscellaneous items. This is the perfect design for a spooky Halloween atmosphere.

It is structured to lock and open the lid of the coffin by turning the cross. To make this, I designed a complex structure inside, and designed it so that it can be printed at once without assembly.
Fold the cross and place it on the lid of the coffin.

If you print it out a larger size, you can put more candy and more junk.

The Iron Maiden came to mind while trying to make something with a eerie atmosphere for the upcoming Halloween Day. So I made this Iron Maiden in a foldable structure. Iron Maidens have different shapes, so I designed my own Iron Maiden by referring to them. To this end, a part was printed separately and designed by attaching or inserting with adhesive.

This design can be used as lighting to create a spooky atmosphere by putting an LED candle light inside.
And you can put a lot of small things inside.

The process of making this folding iron maiden is as follows:

1. Glue the middle awl to the inside center.
2. Glue small awls to the grooves of both doors.
3. Put its head on the body.
4. Hold the door hinge and rotate it inward to insert it. All four hinges are the same.
5. Put the body on the base.
6. Fit the door handle.

Foldable Iron maiden

For Halloween, it would be nice to have lights that create a spooky atmosphere.
So I designed the cloth ghost lighting.
I had this idea a long time ago, but it is very difficult to express the design while printing thinly.
However, after many years of trial and error, I printed in Vase mode and came up with a design that does not require any support, yet expresses the fabric pleats of the ghost clothes well.

Please check the Slicer settings to print this design well before printing.
Print settings were tested with Simplify3D, Cura and Prusa slicer. Please refer to this setting for other printers and slicers.

You can use LED candle light to put the ghost inside.

Cloth ghost lighting

An old wooden coffin designed for holding candy for Halloween.
I designed this inspired by a rotten wooden coffin that looks like something out of a horror movie cemetery.
In order to express the eerie atmosphere, the feeling of an old wooden coffin that rots and cracks is expressed in detail.
It's a bit small to go to get candy on Halloween, but you can print and use it in an enlarged size, or put a candy inside and give it as a gift.
And it can be used for storing small and simple items in general.

Here's how to assemble it.
1. First cut the support attached to the hinge.
2. Push up the hinges until you hear a “click” sound.
3. Close the lid of the coffin to make sure the hinges are raised enough.
4. Glue the bottom part of the coffin.

Old Wooden Coffin

This Halloween item is a skull light.
Most 3D printed skull lights are not very bright as lights, as most of them only leak through a hole. So, I came up with a design using the vase mode to print as thin as possible.

Since the slice setting is important for vase mode printing, be sure to check the slice setting uploaded together.

1. After printing, the support must be cut and removed.
2. Fold the pin attached to the head cap into the hole where the support was removed and insert it into the hole.
3. Finally, simply insert the handle into the hole in the head cap.
4. The light used is an LED tea candle light. All you have to do is open the skull's head cap, put this LED tea candle light inside, and close it.
5. Even without LED lights, it creates a spooky atmosphere for Halloween.

Skull lighting

Halloween needs a spooky vibe. The haunted house is representative of this atmosphere.
This time I designed a haunted house that captures that eerie atmosphere very well.

One of the most representative films of the haunted house is 'The Evil Dead'. This design was inspired by the house, the main setting in the movie 'The Evil Dead'.
When I first saw this movie, I was so scared that I couldn't sleep, but now I see it as an action drama.

This haunted house can be used as a light by putting an LED D-light candle inside, and when you put the LED light in a dark room and turn it on, it is like watching a scene from a horror movie.

The process of printing and finishing is as follows.

First, turn the wall with the door to stand up, and align it with the protrusion of the wall next to it.
After aligning the roof, place it on the protrusion on the wall and insert it.
Glue the 4 pillars to the hole in the underside of the roof and the hole in the deck in front of the door with glue.
Connect the floor surface to the lower floor of the house.
The bottom surface can be easily removed and attached, so you just have to remove the bottom surface, put the lights on, and then close the floor again.

Caterpillar Jack o'Lantern - Carved face

Foldable jack o lanterns have been a huge hit. I am deeply grateful to our customers.
However, the surface was too smooth and could not express the texture of an actual pumpkin. So this time, I designed version 2.0 by expressing the surface texture of the pumpkin and making it more realistic.

This jack o' lantern is very simply made up of two parts: a body and a stem. This design focuses on lighting effects, so the eyes, nose, and mouth are made very thin. So, we designed it so that the light spreads out softly.

The assembly method is very simple, just insert the ends of the body pieces into the stem one by one.

One thing to be careful about when printing is that there is a risk that the outer parts may fall off during printing. Therefore, please pay attention to bed/plate adhesion. If bed/plate adhesion is poor, we recommend using Raft.

To put an LED tea candle inside, pull out about three strands of the body, insert the LED tea candle, and then insert the remaining body pieces.

Foldable Jack o'Lantern - Carved face V 2.0

When it comes to Halloween items, the Jack O lantern is one of the most well-known. This Jack O lantern can be mixed and changed in so many ways that the variety is endless.
Among them, I discovered that there were many items that changed snowmen into pumpkins, and I wanted to redesign them in my own style. So I used the Jack o lantern pumpkin on the snowman I designed previously.
Except for the face at the top, the direction of the faces of the remaining pumpkins was changed to add to the feeling of fear due to the discomfort that comes from irregularity.

The method of making it is the same as the existing three-tier snowman and is very simple.

Jack o'Lantern Snowman

I designed a ghost ship as a Halloween-appropriate item.
This ghost ship was designed to be used as a light as well.

A lot of effort was put into expressing the withered trees and torn sails to match the eerie atmosphere of the ghost ship.

Despite the numerous details, it is very simple to make.
I designed it to include two LED tea lights so that it is brighter and more light leaking from the inside can be seen.

Ghost Ship Lighting

The unique technique of FDM 3D printing is Vase mode. Vase mode is excellent for lighting design.
I like designs printed using this vase mode, and this time, I designed a light using this technique just in time for the Halloween season.

No matter what printer you use, these settings will help you print this light well.

This three-stacked Jack O lantern light is designed by combining the main elements of Halloween: pumpkins, vines, and skull bones.

In order to express the face well, it was designed to be printed and glued in black.
