Collapsible Keychain Rack - Beginner
Recognize this design? I originally launched this stand in collaboration with my brother's page LUDO. I'm releasing it here as well so more people can find it. This design was meant to help 3D print sellers display their key chains at craft events, but is also perfect for showing off your collection at home too.
This keychain rack is fully print-in-place with no supports, collapses for storage, and locks into place. Great for displaying keychains at home, or at craft fairs. It also comes with an optional Tray and Cover to make transport and storage easy and quick.
Print in Place The entire rack can be printed on a 250 mm (or larger) print bed with no supports. It comes off the build plate fully functional, with no cleanup required! Just pull it up and lock in place.
What are those Leaf Keychains?!? The leaf keychains shown in the images are from my Leafy Key models. Linked Here: Leafy Keys

How long does it typically take to print? And about how much does it weigh?
Hi, This model uses around 505g of filament and takes just under 11 hours to print total on a Bambu Labs A1 when using the provided 3mf file. Speed and Filament usage can vary depending on your printer and print settings.
The arms are very fragile. When you try to push the stand back together, they break off very easily.
They are fairly thin but shouldn't snap too easily, especially in the orientation they are printed in. I would suggest making sure your filament settings are strong, as well as that you are using quality material that is dry. Moisture can cause flaws and make filament weaker and some PLA filaments are stronger than others.
Does it lock into place when it is open to prevent it from collapsing while on display?
It uses friction to lock into place. Its been holding my keychains for months now and hasn't collapsed!
Dang, I really like this design but I've had it collapse a few times on me now. It definitely wasn't full of keychains but maybe it happened because it was a really hot day. I wish there was a notch or something to make sure it stays up. Other than that it has been great!
Heat can play a big roll in its strength. I would suggest **carefully **trying to extend it a bit more to add more friction and it should hold a bit better
