This interactive glowing igloo lamp makes use of “spiralize” or “vase mode” printing to optimize translucency of the “snow blocks,” and small magnets to allow you to further modify lighting by altering block placement.

Igloo (iglu in Inuktitut, meaning “house”), is a winter dwelling made of snow. Historically, Inuit across the Canadian Arctic lived in igloos before the introduction of modern, European-style homes. While igloos are no longer the common type of housing used by the Inuit, they remain culturally significant in Arctic communities. Igloos also retain practical value: some hunters and those seeking emergency shelter still use them. See here for more information about the Igloo: https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/igloo

Select a translucent or semi-translucent filament for the “snow blocks.”

The “snow blocks” should be printed in “spiralize” or vase mode. You will need eight each of “Bottom Snow Block,” “Middle Snow Block,” and “Upper Snow Block.”

The “Crown Block” cannot be oriented properly for spiral printing, but because it is small you can print with 100% infill. If you choose to use a smaller percentage of infill, be aware that the infill pattern will be visible and may detract from the appearance.

If you want to be able to build and manipulate the snow blocks, you will need at total of 112 1/8” x 1/32” cylindrical magnets. Be sure to install the magnets with the correct polarity! If this is not a priority for you, you can simply glue the blocks together.

The base is sized to fit these Qasim 60MM White+Amber Switchback LED Halo Ring Angel Eyes Led Lights: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08B3SZTGD/?th=1. If you use this light, you will not need the “Threaded Base Insert”. If you would like to use a smaller or more centrally placed light, you can use the “Threaded Base Insert” to hold the light in place.

These models where designed and printed as part of a review and test of the Snapmaker A350 3-in-1 Modular Printer. Learn more about this product here: https://shop.snapmaker.com/?rfsn=6248618.7afd7b
