Master Control - One Disk To Control it All
🧭 Master Control - One Disk To Control it All
I’m incredibly excited to finally share the Master Control Disk — a project that has taken me months of designing, tweaking, printing, soldering, and refining. It’s easily the most ambitious and satisfying build I’ve ever created. Smooth lighting, a responsive touchscreen interface, a clean printable shell, and a custom Python program all come together to create a futuristic, functional control surface you can proudly display on your desk.
✅ Features:
- 🔵 Dual Addressable LED Rings — vibrant effects, ambient animations, and customizable lighting modes
- 🖥️ Interactive Touchscreen — Waveshare display for menus, widgets, settings, and real-time feedback
- 🐍 Included Python Program — with easy setup script
- 🖨️ Printable 3MF File — parts designed for easy prints and smooth assembly
- 📘 Included Build Guide — wiring, printing, assembly, coding
- 🛠️ Full Parts List — all components required to build the disk from start to finish
✨ Maker’s Note: This project wasn’t simple — you’ll need to learn a bit of electronics, soldering, and programming to bring it to life. But here’s the fun part: I started this with absolutely no experience in soldering, electronics, or coding, and I still managed to build the entire thing from scratch. It became one of the most rewarding and genuinely enjoyable learning experiences I’ve had, and I hope it gives you the same sense of challenge, creativity, and accomplishment.
Heads up: this print was made for 256x256 or bigger build plates.

This doesn't appear to fit on a 230 x 230 build plate, do you have a model that will?
Unfortunately not, sorry.
It's made to be as big as possible printed on a standard 256x256 build plate.
I'll update the description to make this more clear
Heya! This is an amazing project... thank you for your work on this! I've printed and built it (exactly as you did) and then made some upgrades to both the code (turned it into an AI assistant with voice) and the Pi. I added a POE+ HAT to allow the Pi to be powered over ethernet. However, that makes the Pi ~9mm too tall for the case. Any chance we could collaborate together to modify the case to fit a POE HAT? Seems like a logical upgrade to what you built. Thanks!
Cannot wait to build this, amazing work thank you
