Introducing 'Elemental Rust - Copper'

Inspired by cells on the periodic table, this unique keychain captures features of coppers elemental attributes.

For this project I used Proto-pasta Metal Filled PLA. Specifically the Copper filled composite PLA.

Additionally I post processed the parts by roughing up the surface using a rotary tool and metal brush to expose metal particles. The brushed the parts down with a salt and vinegar solution, let sit for 8-10 hours, then rinsed with water. Resulting in the beautiful patina you see in the images above.

This was a super fun project and one I would recommend to anyone interested in playing around with unique materials.
