Mario dice tower

Adventurers! Dice tower enthusiasts! Fans of Mario! Your time has come! Let your next D&D rolls be eaten by the dreaded piranha plant and take a joy ride through its stem entering a mysterious pipe. Oh? Where do we end up? This must be Rainbow Road!

This idea came about from wanting to create unique dice tower that also can be disassembled easily and brought with you. I also wanted to have it be printable on a Prusa Mini AND without supports. Checking all of those boxes and combining it with Mario, you have this fantastic model.

EDIT: it was brought to my attention that I somehow missuploaded a few of the files and was missing a couple things. I THINK I fixed everything that was missing. If not, let me know.

Assembly instructions:

GLUE

  • Teeth to lips (align them to get the best mouth closure)
  • Spots to head halves
  • "?" to box and front cap
  • Both pipes utilize a insert and twist to lock in system.

  • Stem fits perfectly chamfered edge in first.

  • Top lip holds both halves of head together.

  • Bottom head is held together by the top of the stem hole and the connecting pins.

  • Connecting pins double as an axle for the top half.

  • Leaves fit nicely in slots on the top pipe.

  • Bottom of bottom pipe has a spot for rainbow road connector piece.

  • Rainbow road has the same.

  • Side rails and end wall can be glued if needed.

  • Front and top cap can be used to cover dice holes during transport.

  • Bottom cover of box slides in from the opposite side of the exit hole. The small slot on it goes toward the box to act as a lock once it's all the way in.

The only side note I have is I truly only tested this with dice I had laying around and had some rolls that wouldn't be stopped by the walls. I did my best to somewhat stop the dice. My story for that would be the dice can't drive well and end up driving off the edge of Rainbow Road.

Print settings: Strap in. If a part is not mentioned, you can print it however you want.

Box - Prints fine with 0.3mm but would recommend 0.15-0.2 for the last 15mm of the print.

Piranha head pieces / Stem - Print these at a lower layer height. I printed all of these at 0.15 without supports and everything fit perfectly.

Rainbow Road - This was made with a rainbow filament to get the idea of it being "rainbow road"

Rainbow Road side rails - 1st layer height: 0.25mm ....layer height: 0.3mm (tolerances for fitting pieces together)

Leaves - This one has potential for a color change for the last layer for added decoration. To get the curve of it, you can use a heat gun or hair drier and a glass or cup to help.
