Printy Panels - First round of test printing and these seem pretty promising.
The 6x4 panels are a great fit for building a display case for my Li'l Crafty figures collection.

My panels are printed from Overture Matte Wood PLA, and the connectors are from Bambu CF PLA

Some notes:
 - the single tab connectors slip out pretty easily, unless these are redesigned with notches or something I'll probably only print larger connectors.
 - It seems like the 6 hole pattern spread lines up pretty closely to the IKEA Skadis 5 hole width. So I'll try to make an attachment to connect these.
 - I'm using some outer corner brackets to act as little feet, but it might be nice to have actual feet options. building them to screw into the wide flat (2x2) connecter would allow them to span and stabilize a couple panels.
 - I'm thinking shelf labels might be nice
 - and maybe lighting

Really like these, cheers. - 3d model

Printing

  • All parts can be printed without supports.
  • Add a brim if curling is an issue.
  • Use large 0.3mm layer heights for quicker prints that are still strong.
  • Use PETG, ABS, or strong formulations of PLA. Silk, woodfill, and matte PLAs are NOT recommended.

Loose Connectors?

If your connections are too loose, try one of the following:

  • Add a slight fuzzy skin (0.1mm variance) to the connectors. This will essentially make the connectors a little thicker without altering their overall dimensions.
  • Increase your extrusion multiplier so that the connector walls are slightly thicker.
  • Increase your print temperature slightly - this often has a similar result to increasing the extrusion multiplier.
