Extension spring 100N.stl

Extension spring capable of exerting a max force of about 10kg. In order to achieve this spring shall be post processed with annealing.
If this is not done, max allowed deflection and force would be about 6kg.

Compression spring - 90N

A working spring that generates about 90N (can hold 9kg) at solid length (without cracks or damages). Fatigue test has been performed up to about 4000 cycles without any damage (decay within admissible range of 5%). However according to calculation, it should have infinite life (engineering speaking).

⚠ ATTENTION ⚠
This spring is designed taking into account mechanical properties of PLA+. Any different material or setup will impact the declared performances.

☝ Do not scale the model. Any dimension change would impact performances and resistance.
✌ Print with 100% infill (layer height no more than 0.2mm). Printing direction is vertical with supports between coils. They will be easy to remove.
🤙 Make sure your printer is well tuned and you get proper layer adhesion.

📚I won't be explaining the whole design process that guarantees functionality and performances, but if you are interested you can contact me.

Also, if you need a specific spring of specific load, do not scale the following one cause it won't work. Spring has to be designed accordingly.

If you’re bored of Lego, this 3D printed self-interlocking construction block will break your brain. It takes minutes to print, months to figure out!

Officially known as an “SL Block,” this octocube shape is part of a family of “topologically interlocking assemblies,” that is, shapes that hold together without the use of connectors or adhesives to form self-interlocking structures. Self-interlocking structures have interesting architectural and engineering applications.

A ends of a single “SL” block resemble an “S” and an “L.”. In assembly, SL blocks always occur in pairs, called a “Conjugate Pair.” In the pictures and video, conjugate pairs are shown with one white and one black piece.

Conjugate pairs lock together in six different ways, called “engagements,” to form “SL Strands.” Each type of engagement adds a unique translation or rotation to the SL Strand. The six types of engagements are denoted as “h,” “t,” “s,” “d,” “a” and “y.”

Using this system, the SL strands can be represented as strings consisting of six letters that stand for
the six types of engagements.


The first example in the video is an “h4” SL Strand. “h” engagements are straight with no rotations or translations, so the strand is straight.

The next example is an “a4” SL Strand. “a” engagements create a 90 degree rotation but no translations, so the “a4” strand makes a closed, cube-shaped structure.

The final examples in the videos show more complicated “(as2)4” and “(dth)4” strands. These modules can then be connected to form larger and increasingly complex self-interlocking structures.

OP-1 BestCase // Simple Decksaver

Protect your OP-1 in the coolest way possible with a 3D printed case! Better yet, the OP-1 BestCase is both a deck protector and a stand that tilts the OP-1 up to take advantage of the same ergonomic benefits that computer keyboards have been rocking since the 80's.

The model includes round tabs at each corner to improve build plate adhesion. They can be ripped off afterward, or cleanly removed with a X-acto knife.

This case uses a friction fit designed for PLA, so materials that shrink more like ABS may be too tight.

As you're likely aware, PLA is not sun-friendly, so avoid exposing a PLA case to warm environments to prevent warping. If you want extra security, I recommend silicone bands like these (also on eBay) or these.

 

Kawai Tsugite (3-Way Joint)

This novel Japanese joint is able to connect in three different orientations, creating both right angles, and straight connections. It was originally a woodworking joint, but I've designed a printable version so you can easily print and appreciate the beauty of this clever invention!

Print in default orientation with standard settings. No supports required!
