In the vast desert of Tatooine, where scavengers roamed in search of discarded treasures, there lived a Jawa with an uncommon passion. This particular Jawa had a fascination with technology that extended beyond the typical scavenging for droids and equipment. Instead, this Jawa had fallen in love with the art of 3D printing.

Amidst the towering sand dunes and dusty canyons, the Jawa tirelessly scoured the wasteland for pieces of machinery, circuitry, and discarded components. These weren't just scraps to be sold; they were puzzle pieces to a grand creative endeavor. With boundless enthusiasm, the Jawa would bring these treasures back to its hidden workshop, nestled within the labyrinthine network of sandstone caves.

In the heart of its makeshift lair, the Jawa had amassed an impressive array of 3D printers, each cobbled together from salvaged parts. With meticulous care, it would clean and repair the components it collected, then meticulously design and print intricate objects and devices. Its creations ranged from small trinkets to functional tools, demonstrating a deep understanding of the technology's potential.

The desert night would often find the Jawa hunched over its printers, its glowing eyes focused intently on the growing creations. As layers of molten material fused together, the Jawa's excitement was palpable. Its devotion to 3D printing had transformed it into a skilled craftsman, blending its scavenging expertise with an artistic touch that was as unique as its sand-covered robes.

Word of the Jawa's remarkable creations spread through the desert, attracting traders, explorers, and even the occasional curious moisture farmer. The Jawa's passion had not only elevated its status within the Jawa tribe but had also earned it respect and admiration from unlikely allies across the harsh landscape of Tatooine.

120-Cell Study

The 120-cell is a four-dimensional shape composed of 120 dodecahedral cells. It is one of the six regular convex 4-polytopes and has some of the most beautiful patterns and symmetries.

4-polytopes cannot be seen in three-dimensional space due to their extra dimension, but there are several techniques that can be used to “project” 4-polytopes into three-dimensional space. This study uses the cell-centered stereographic projection method, chosen for the interesting aesthetic appearance.

While these three-dimensional shapes have curved faces and edges of various lengths, it is interesting to imagine that in four-dimensional space, the faces are flat, and the edges are straight and identical in length.

In this 120-cell study, select cells have been removed to allow maximal viewing of the various cells, including the center cell. The outer “shell” of cells has been removed to allow better visualization of the inner cells, and because their relative size is so large compared to the inner cells.
