There are many ways you could go about printing them but our best success was leaving them in shape like in the file, dropping support overhang angle down to 30 degrees and printing them in shape with support acting like the shell itself. This way retains location and shape to transfer over to the shell. You could also lay each piece flat, allowing support to build under the backside of each piece as those sides will be glued to the shell itself. Hope that helps!
How would I go about printing the scales for the shell? Do they lay flat and have to heat them up to place them correctly?
