Hextraction Mini Sorter Tiles (16 Pack)
A set of 16 tiles designed to sort 5mm balls and standard balls (10mm and 3/8 inch) out different exits. Use this in combination with a Shrink Ray (ZackFreedman, BitTorrent, ZungrySoft) or the 5mm-Converter tile.
Admittedly the tiny balls have erratic pathing so don't expect 100% reliability with them. However, the standard balls are reliable in these. If you have a Shrink Ray in your pool and are looking for more basics, this is a must print.
Shoutout to ZungrySoft for his ShrinkRayGate tile which inspired the J-X remake and the whole pack.
Parts List
There's 8 basic tiles each with an advanced variant that adds additional standard paths. The naming convention refers to "standard path shape, dash, 5mm path shape". Each tile has an upper part and a lower part. Hope this clears up the confusion.
- Basic tile → Advanced tile
- CC-X → U-X
- CC-Y → U-Y
- I-II → K-II
- I-X → K-X
- J-A → E-A
- J-X → E-X
- L-V → W-V
- JL-X → 3E-X
Printing / Assembly
Colors were chosen to match the Shrink Ray. Do the same for your set or at least choose different colors for the uppers and lowers. All uppers are printed with their top face touching bed.
Some files are renamed duplicates to reduce confusion during slicing. For instance, "I-X Upper" and "K-X Upper" are the same part.
Some uppers may be misidentified when pairing with lowers. For instance, "J-X Upper" can be placed on "J-A Lower". However their pathing is different.
Remove any stringing on the Lowers pegs. If you printed these in a batch, pair up all corresponding parts before assembly. Glue the uppers onto their lowers. Allow for curing time before running balls through them.
